How the fuck is Nolan signing for West Ham??? He's a top 10 prem player easy. Proper old school box to box midfielder. Where are the QPRs, Sunderlands, Villas or Evertons here? Has the premier league gone mad?

Ah bugger it I say.

Nice to see west ham get a break for once.

He will prove to be a fantastic signing for them. More fool all the others who let him slip past them.

Apologies for sticking this in here, I just didn't want to make a new thread for something that can be answered with one reply.

Am I imagining this, or did we not give Phillip Cocu a trial a few years ago? Wikipedia has nothing on it but I swear blind we had him around for a few weeks.

Cheers.

JOSE MOURINHO: DZEKO'S THE REAL DEAL

16th June 2011
By David Woods

Your Shout ( 0 )

JOSE MOURINHO wants to snatch striker Edin Dzeko away from Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho was hot on Dzeko’s trail in January and was devastated when the 25-year-old Bosnian opted for Eastlands.

Dzeko went on to score six goals but only two in the Premier League in 21 games as City qualified for the Champions League and won the FA Cup.

He still has four years of his City contract to run but Mancini could be tempted to cash in as he pursues other transfer targets.

City are leading the way in the race to sign Udinese’s Chilean international Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez, who will cost at least £30m.

And they are also weighing up a move for another Serie A striker, Ezequiel Lazvezzi of Naples, while former Arsenal star Emmanuel Adebayor is on his way out of the club.

Ironically, Mourinho turned to Adebayor on loan when he was pipped by Mancini in the race to sign Dzeko in the January transfer window.

Mourinho rejected the chance to make the move permanent, with Blackburn now after the City man.

Instead he has made the capture of Dzeko his top priority.

Sven had him on trial. I remember this because I thought it was odd to have quality player like Cocu on trial. We didn't sign him and accroding to Wikipedia he moved to UAE.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Francesco Coco was on trial too (under Pearce?) at one point. Turned up to training smoking IIRC and was told to fuck off.

HAHA

I had forgotten all about that. To be fair, Coco looked like a fucking bum even in his prime.

Veteran pair Jonathan Woodgate and Patrick Vieira are on a list of 123 footballers released by Premier League clubs this summer.

Woodgate will now have to decide whether he retires from football after making just 49 Premier League appearances in three and a half years at Tottenham due to a succession of injuries.

Vieira is the other highest-profile name on the list as Manchester City opt against offering him a new contract after just four Premier League starts last season.

Here is a complete list of the players released by their clubs this summer.

BLACKPOOL: David Carney, Daniel Coid, Ishmel Demontagnac, Rob Edwards, Jason Euell, Marlon Harewood, Richard Kingson, Malaury Martin, Paul Rachubka, Andy Reid, Salaheddine Sbai.

CHELSEA: Samuel Hutchinson, Carl Magnay, Danny Philliskirk, Jan Sebek, Michael Woods.

EVERTON: Kieran Agard, Hope Akpan, Nathan Craig, Gerard Kinsella, Lee McArdle, Iain Turner.

FULHAM: Zoltan Gera, Edward Johnson, Diomansy Kamara, John Pantsil, Matthew Saunders.

Is Garrido still our player?

Elmander isn't available, by the way. He's off to Turkey.

Bayern Munich are set to turn their attention to Chelsea defender Alex after failing to agree a deal with Jerome Boateng, according to Bild.

The Manchester City defender was keen on the move after a difficult career at Eastlands, where his opportunities have been limited given the form of Pablo Zabaleta.

Since he realised he may have to put a shift in during games and work hard to improve?
