You have reservations over our manager because our new signing got injured and has so far been unable to take part in any of our any games?

It was not a meaningless friendly, it was a wembley final for a trophy with bragging rights. I am gutted.

Let's all calm down. The way to beat United is to press the CM's hard to nullify the quick ditribution to the wingers. We were never going to put the necessary shift in in this match given its friendly status and therefore effectively ceded a lot of possession to them. I agree we looked leggy but expect that we will show much more urgency when it matters.

My issues:

1. Ball security. We just didn't keep it well enough. The 1 time we had some sustained pressure Yaya threw it away.

2. Joey's Long ball. Why? Why give it away so easily? Play it short and build the play.

3. Defensive depth. We played waaaay too deep. Maybe it's because we were scared of Young. Not sure why though.

4. De Gea. They paid how much?

I don't mind that they're not fit at this stage. It's a long season. But I do have issues with our disrespect for possession. Keep the fucking ball City. We were a counterattacking team today and with the squad assembled that's just not good enough.

Let's be honest. We were played off the park and the score should have been 3-0 or at best 3-1.

didn't even get to watch game due to a kid's party (!), but what's the big drama? Didn't want to lose due to the opponents, but about as meaningful a game as the Thomas Cook trophy.

Remember we were missing our best player in tevez and his replacement in Aguero.

The fact that we struggled to sell the tickets showed what the fans thought of it, so why should the players feel differently? Before someone mentions their wages, how passionate are you about your employer?

We played atrocious today, scored two goals that made us seem better than we were playing. They deserved it as much as that pains me to say, but the way I look at it is 2 seasons ago we played great against the scum and lost in injury time (4-3) this time they played great and we were terrible and they beat us again by one goal scored in injury time. Isn't that progression? Plus the fact our (hopefully) two main strikers didn't play any part and balotelli was a waste and dzeko not much better apart from the goal, seems to me that a full strength team against united playing well and we would not be on the losing side.

No. Because of the other comments I made before that one.

Sometimes a team just does not play well as is the case today, and yes it was our strength team but I think with tevez and aguero up front it would have helped the team out no end by defending from the front. Think we have knee jerk reactions to a for all intentional purposes friendly game that has cost us nothing. Incidentally did nani handball it on the winner? Seemed that way watching it on-line.

it's nothing to do with wages, it's to do with mentality. Either the players are insilled with the will to win or they are not. If not they should go.
It didn't seem like Utd treated it like a friendly and they kept going till the end, that's why they win things. Until we have the same mentality we will only ever be close

It is indeed, and you're right.
Lets face it, we played shite all over the shop, but they needed a 'Crazy Gang' long-ball goal to beat us!

I'm hoping that Aguero will do the same sort of thing for us.

Agreed, we sucked today.

We need players up front who will receive the ball, RUN and dribble past the opposition defence, we have 2 in Aguero and Silva (and Tevez if he stays) but I feel we could do with one more... I genuinely understand why Bobby wants another winger and creative mid as a matter of urgency. We need more "spark" in this side.

We caused the rags no problems today, the fact we scored 2 is a miracle.

We will get better though, I still expect us to push for the title this year.

Funny how when wimbledon used to do that it was shit and one-dimensional and criticized but when united do it just pure genius

we looked off the pace physically- Utd much sharper- that'll right itself in a few weeks- tho Bobby should not have let us sit back and defend at 2-0, after all it is a "friendly" of sorts. Claridge on radio, Wilkins as co-commentator- and Gary Fuckin Nevile on at half time commentary as well on Sky- its a windup isnt it?!
