I don't think AJ is going anywhere yet. There's not even been confirmation that we've put a bid in for Sinclair, just seems to be papertalk.

As for Agger, I don't understand why we'd be in for a left sided defender who has a dodgy fitness record, especially for 20 million!

Agger is a damn good CB mate, one who represents a solid improvement on Lescott, someone who would shine next to big vince imo.

Injury record is the only issue attached to him but when rotated I doubt it will be an issue really, he consistently plays 30 games a season even with his dodgy record, so solid enough for me.

Agger will be our first signing, sounds as though it is 85% done. Doubt he'll make the Chelsea game though!

I too think Agger is a good CB but an improvement on Lescott? I know some people don't rate Lescott but to say Agger will be a solid improvement on him seems wrong.

The injury issue is a huge concern as we all know that the CB pairing is very important in terms of consistency. Agger cannot guarantee that and there's no chance we would be paying 20 odd mil for cover.

You say 85% done, I'm thinking 100% it's not. I may just be hoping though.

also, as I said dozen of time, to add a 3rd CB seeking for a starting 11 spot would possibly apply tension in the delicate balance of that very special role. while on the contrary a versatile player, most crafted for the midfield (Derossi/Javi martinez) would provide cover for two roles without generating particular tension inside the dressing room (midfielder are more natural to turnover and more disposed to gladly get a kind of rotational rest)
