This was Mancini's power play and he lost. The project is bigger than him. End of story.

Carry on City. Im still in love. And thank you Roberto. What you did matters. Always.

Agree 100%.

I understand there are some very upset people on here but to still be spewing hatred for the club and those who run it is uncalled for.

Sure, it's a cruel world and yes, it is unfortunate that every single upcoming sacking is leaked at least the week before, but they are doing this for the good of the club.

Some of you may disagree with this, but it's a fact.

So stop throwing hatred at the best owners a club could ask for and start looking at the big picture. The relaionships that were detriorating within the club. The type of structure the two barca boys had before and want again. Losing a title so feebly to a pretty average rag side and losing a cup final to a relegated team, whilst being the first english side to not win a single group game.

The whole picture. This huge adventure started with these lads coming in and mancini was a part of it. A fantastic part of it at one stage, but not anymore.

Get ready for the next stage.

Well if these Spanish geniuses think that they can find a manager to coach Maicon, Garcia, Sinclair etc. to the European cup and League, I will show my arse at Eastlands.

I'm with you guys. The aim of the board is to make City the biggest and the best, and they will do what it takes. We have to trust them. I wasn't in favour of sacking now, but there ARE a long list of misgivings about Mancini, particularly in the player motivation stakes.

So lets get on with it and enjoy the ride.

That sums up my views as well. Let's just get on with it and get behind the board and whoever they will bring in.

We were just as bad against Wigan in the league so it wasn't the press that cost us a fa cup.

Fair enough regards under par performances from the established players but imagine trying to gee up the team before kick off for the biggest game of the season, knowing the players and staff are all looking at you thinking - you're toast Roberto, everybody's talking about it.

does this mean that we have to HOPE nasri, dzeko and the other underperformers will turn into world beaters? Is there no 'war-chest' for Falcao etc?

As CARL quite rightly said yesterday, I will always support the club over players/managers etc, however recent events have made me realise the fact that we ain't loveable old City anymore and are rapidly becoming alot of things I've always disliked in football. I'll be cheering as much as the next supporter thou, however uncomfortable I feel about our current path now.

Mancini has slit his own throat, He spoke with Monaco, he failed in the Champions League, The bar is so high from the owners we should be comforted if that the right word that they want the cake the candles and the whole shooting match, My opinions on Mancini, have been up and down all season, he is MARMITE, and that has done for him sadly, The best manager I have followed at City, but from what I hear he is hard fucking work weather that fits with peoples lov-in not sure but I said he would be gone last week and he is, Berigistain has tired of the battles with Bobby. DDR was a ludicrous attempted pursuit of a signing that again was a nail. For all that I will always feel he could have become a even bigger legend if he had just mellowed a touch and accepted the plans for the club were ever moving and changing. Sad day but heyho this eeeez football and he knew that.

Yeah because 'loveable old City' never sacked managers or messed things up.

If anything, the last few days has made me more comfortable that 'Typical City' is still alive and well.

So bring on the new manager, he'll be the Messiah and I should know, I've followed a few.

Are we not renowned for sacking folk mate? Seems to me we've reverted to loveable old City! None of this consistency nonsense, move that Tony Book fella upstairs for finishing second, get Big Mal back..................................

The difference being our last manager actually won stuff rather than flirting with or achieving relegation like many of the others! Its a more sinister 'typical City' we are seeing now imo

Dzeko was pretty good when he came here mate. Recently he's been absolute shite. At Arsenal Nasri was at times one of the best in Europe. He's got worse in the last year. So has Yaya, so has Aguero, so has Kolarov etc etc. So has Hart!

You have to think about that and wonder why.

I think this is the point, if it was looked at purely as a success on the pitch situation, there maybe a further degree of sympathy, but the 'holistic' side seems to be hitting home, and the consensus is that it was the right decision. Furthermore, a lot of positive thoughts and feedback re Pellegrini.

spot on. The first report from SSN last night was very balanced and well reasoned. No bad press for the owners and the club.

Aye but Mancini was never going to be the 'put your arm arm around him and tell him everything is gonna be alright' type of manager. And why the fuck should he? Most of our players are getting paid ridiculous amounts of money on a weekly basis, some of them so much it would take your average bloke over a decade to earn. He was their boss. It's about time some of the squad grew a set of bollocks and stopped acting like soft cunts because they sat on the bench....
