Mangala was sitting on his knees after sliding in but missing to block the cross. It was a correct decision. Easy to miss though, I didn't see it until the third replay or summat.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Just listening to the ITV review of the game. You would think we were rubbish , listening to how the talk only about Sevilla.

They even put a negative slant on Kevin being a two footed finisher ! Kin 'ell all players would give up anything to be two footed !

That's absurd.

Everyone knows that the only fair criticism of de Bruyne is his actions after scoring the goal. That late into the game, you have to fall down on the ground after scoring and let the other players pile on you in order to maximize the amount of time wasting. It's standard procedure!

442 does not work, Zabba has lost a yard at least, Great win somehow. Not sure we will ever get away that again.

No wrists slit here my good man.
Hopefully we will see a regular back 4 on Sunday, I wouldn't play Zaba at right back.
Sagna Vinny Mangala Kola, now that we can play them again that is.
Ota and zab on the bench please.

The negativity on here is unreal, I had my fill of it with that twat Mills and then I come on here and see this droning on about Yaya in a two man midfield. We weren't at our best last night, true, but the biggest problem for me wasn't in the centre of the park it was at full back on both sides. They kept getting into great positions out wide because Zaba couldn't handle Konoplyanka's trickery and Sagna kept losing the run of himself positionally. This all changed when Kolarov came on, we had balance again at that point and restricted Sevilla from creating because of it.

Yes there was some haphazard defending at times but to be fair they only managed two shots on target in the whole game. We weren't at our best but it was nowhere near as bad as some are making out on here.

The BBC round-up is a disgrace:

They really hate us. No way would the rags have received such a summary.

That's some unreal negativity towards City.I'm actually really surprised BBC would put out something that appears so biased.

It just has to have been wrote by a rag that couldn't help himself.

I alluded to this shocking report in the thread about the media.

Even worse was the ITV summarisation last night.

Just read this and it's not far away from the game I was at last night - and what many people here have said. This "disgrace" of a report just doesn't seem that way to me. Here's what it said that I can't see how anyone who was there could disagree with:

- Seville played better than us for long periods of the game
- We were undone repeatedly down the flanks
- We struggled to get and hold position and didn't have much threat for long periods of the game
- Bony is no Aguero
- Without Vinny our central defence has leaked more goals and chances consistently, even against weaker teams
- De Bruyne saved us , helped by Pellers substitutions and Seville seeming to tire.

It's not a disgrace, it's just straight talking.

Game started at around 11pm over in Dubai, I managed to last until the 85th minute before boredom and excessive alcohol from earlier in the evening got the better of me.

Nice surprise to wake upto

They didn't play better than us for long periods, they had a 15 minute spell in the first half where they were better, that aside it was fairly even.

As for the rest, I don't mind them pointing out the negative but what about the chances we created.

Overall that report makes out that they completely dominated the game and that we did a smash and grab, not true, the game was finely poised and one goal either way in the second half would settle it.

I simply saw it as overall saying 'City weren't at their best', which is true. The thing is, we are capable of playing incredible football and blowing teams away, when we don't do that and we toil to a victory then I have no issue with journalists pointing out that we struggled against a team who is struggling in their league, as we did against ze germans.

What I have issues with is the cunts who make sly digs like the number of seats empty etc which have no actual relevance to the story.

I totally agree with your comment & it sums up this warped notion that teams should win matches, based on how dominant or threatening they might look, despite not scoring enough goals to win!... Some people & journalists need to be reminded that it's the goals that count the most... Not the "what ifs," or who "deserved" to win, or which team "dominated" the match!

As for the BBC article by Chris Bevan, the BBC site balances his bias, by also including a snippet of Pat Nevin's Radio 5 reporting, as follows:

BBC Radio 5 live's Pat Nevin: "This is a brilliant result against a really good side. Manchester City got very, very lucky until about 60 minutes but after that I could see tiredness coming for Sevilla. Manuel Pellegrini made some changes, and they were very intelligent changes. They worked, Manchester City won and they are 100% in the driving seat for getting through now."

Not one newspaper or other media outlet bitched or moaned about Arsenal's win against Bayern on Tuesday. The referee indicated two minutes of overtime
but played well over four. It looked like he was willing Bayern to get an equaliser. However when he could have gone down Levandowski chased a lost ball , so no penalty.

Bayern had over 70% possession, made well over 600 passes . Were better in almost all areas of the pitch except scoring the goals. So What does that tell us ?

Yet we 'struggled' Arsenal were heroic ( yeah really).

Re empty seats. Psg - real 46k. In the highlights of every game last night, there was not one sold out stadium . Watering down a competition sends people to sleep.
