The Rodri handball incident is perpetuated by EFC and rival fans. Whether it touched his hand or not is immaterial, the ref blew offside if i remember the incident correctly .

Correct. Ref blew for a restart resulting in our free kick because Richarlison was offside.

Arsenals first goal against Chelsea should be offside if last nights was, no? Arsenal player was offside and impeding the Chav defender who could have got to the ball if he was not there. 10 sec VAR review cleared the goal.

Both our goal and Arsenal’s were legitimate goals. It seems one side gets away with a lot at set pieces regarding holding and pushing and blocking and one side doesn’t

Spoiler alert, one of the side plays in red

Before Tuesday's game Newcastle had played 18 times in all competitions at SJP, and scored at least once in every game. They had also scored 6 times in the last 7 games AFTER the 90 minute mark.
To keep them out for over 100 minutes of play with such a young, inexperienced centre back pairing, an unfit Ake and a midfielder as the back line was a fantastic team effort.
Well done, Blue boys!

Great post, puts the result into perspective, especially given our previous fragility late in games earlier in the season - though while I didn't see the game, from the highlights it seems we lived dangerously early on and could easily have been a couple behind on another night.

The VAR thing is quite simple, they found a way to award Wirtz’s goal when he was clearly in an offside position and found a way to deny Semenyo’s goal and took an age to do it. We have to call it cheating, there is no other explanation!!

Spot on, honestly had anybody heard of the 5 cm allowance for offsides before the Wirtz goal ? They just make it up as they go along, just how they get away with it beggars belief

Agreed. It doesn't need a lot of explaining, it's just corruption. Simple as

What pisses me off is the way this was dealt with
It could have been killed off instantly But oh no it’s against Big bad City So we won’t talk about the offside and we will issue Everton an apology???

All This shit gets to the players no doubt
