We've been in for him before with no interest shown and I'm fairly certain we're in again. This time though, factors have changed:
1. Liverpool management and circumstances surrounding funding.
2. City's new acquisitions and realistic chance of Premier League title.
Things have changed considerably and I wouldn't be surprised if he is looking at us with a serious desire to move, especially with the new Spanish contingent. Only downside, if he is prepared to leave Liverpool, then he'd be prepared to join one of the current bigger clubs.
He told sky sports that he is happy with Hodgson getting the job,but from his quotes he seems to talk about liverpool as if he didn't play for them or as if he's off. Maybe im reading to much into it anyone else think it sounds like that
"I was happy he (Hodgson) got the job. I haven't had a chat with him yet but I will talk with him soon and we will see his ideas about the future.
"For now, my future is here. South Africa and the World Cup is too important to think about things after that.
"I have a very important week still here and after that I will have time to talk with him and talk about my future.
"He did really well at Fulham and I am sure he can do better for Liverpool. He is a very good manager. He showed that in the past and in the last season with Fulham.
"Hopefully he will be the right man to give Liverpool the opportunity to be strong again."

Strange how players talk this way isn't it? I've noticed that a few of ours come out with similar statements, ie. 'I want City to make history' etc, but don't use the word 'Us'.
He's given a brief statement but it does seem very detached, guess we'll just after wait and see eh ;-)

Dzeko tells Wolfsburg to accept Man City offer
Eden Dzeko wants a move to Manchester City.
The Bosnia international went public last week declaring he was ready to leave Steve McClaren's Wolfsburg.
The Sunday Mirror says reports in Germany claim that striker Dzeko has told Wolfsburg to accept City’s offer of £28m.

That's gotta be bollocks mate, McClaren would never give us a Taggart target!
Dzeko would definately do me, a good player who has proved himself in a similar league to our own. And we don't throw the money at a club that would be competing against us.
I wonder what the clubs view is on signing either him, or say Torres; shirt sales or keep a rival down?

I would assume an offer to his club would have to have been accepted before we could officially approach him since he's under contract - unless there are leaks about an accepted offer I dont see any reason to make anything of it.

The most telling sentance in that article is: "Torres says talk about his future must wait until Spain’s World Cup campaign is over"

I would love him to come to City, i know he's had his injury problems but he's a top class player.

I worry about his injury troubles but that said he's on another level to the strikers we currently have... hell maybe even have ever had.
My heart says super signing, but my head says injury's might just blight his career going forward.. with that in mind head says Dzeko over Torres.. even though Torres is the better of the two.
That said if Torres signed i'd still do a lap of honour round my garden, crying with joy! lol.

If Torres was with us we would let him properly recover from injuries before rushing him back - he could have his best years with us - I would really like this rumour to be true

Yeh right mate .....we could follow the RSC injury program City set up..we would get at least 90 mins a season from Torres.
Back of the net.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Actually... on second thoughts....
I must admit that I was one of those that thought that when RSC was allowed to properly recover he would come good etc etc - what a mug I was on that one

levante-emv (local to Valencia) reckons that we offered them either Santa or Jo in the Silva deal, neither of which had them rushing for the pen. But Cooky has also offered Robinho to them at half price (currently €23M) to what we paid.
Valencia are interested in this and are 'studying the offer'.

The most telling sentance in that article is: "Torres says talk about his future must wait until Spain’s World Cup campaign is over"
Silva said something to that effect about 3 weeks ago.
However in tha last hour Sport.es has given their take on 'El Niño' Torres.
The headline is that 'Torres is leaving Liverpool' and it's all based on the fact that he is refusing to talk to his new manager (which is a bit much if you ask me, and a very bad sign for Dippers fans).
He's practically decided that his future lies elsewhere. Chelsea and City are both dying to sign him, but Barcelona have distanced themselves, although they've always had a good relationship with him. "Barcelona have signed David Villa and now want to invest the money they have in other players" said Torres' agent.
Of course the future of Ibrahimovic may change that, but for the moment they watch matters from afar.http://www.sport.es/default.asp?idpubli ... _PK=806&h=Personally I would think the current inability of Villa and Torres to work together in the WC would seal Barca's decision.
