Lifted from twatter.
Seems like a decent team.
By all accounts City not having it all there own way though.

I wonder if they're playing a back three ??

I would have thought Duhaney would play left full back. But you never can tell, the way they switch them around.

78' Goal. Leicester sub Uche curls an excellent effort past Grimshaw and draws the hosts level. @LCFC 2-2 #mcfc.

Just seen the under 23s have only won three out of the last nine. Is this more to do with chopping and changing the team selection or aren't we as good at this age level?

From comments in here from those attending and also from getting the same story from Twosips(InEsteemedKompany)
it sounds a bit of a combination of the chopping and changing, people being played out of position and players seemingly not understanding the tactics.

It seems Simon Davies has not impressed most attendees.

The u23s is an odd level as many of those under 23 are out on loan - or in the PL squad!

I think the u18s and u19s are a better gauge of where we're at or going to.

Apparently it was Boadu who scored the third and gave the penalty away.

Report is now up on the OS.

It would seem to me that for the academy to produce first team squad players or hopefully a proper first teamer every now and then, then the manager of this age group really needs to work with Pep closely and prepare the players in the same way as the first team so they are ready sooner than they gave been. Sounds like the present incumbent, Simon Davies, hasn't quite got his finger on the pulse regarding this. I know he only took over from Vieira recently but this is an important position in the City group and it isn't one we can allow someone to 'develop' into the role otherwise we may find we miss out on some guys in the current crop.

For so much to be invested in the academy it seems a bit daft not to treat it with the upmost professionalism by having the right men in the right roles

I agree NB.
But it strikes me that if you have not shone by the time you are in our U18/19's then your chances with us are slim.
I think our U23's are a mixture of those in the shop window for a loan and last chance saloon and those that are very young and promising and showing what they can do against bigger stronger kids.

Some of promising 16/17 year olds seem to get a fair bit of game time.

I think these are the ones Pep is interested in.

Spot on NB; your last point is particularly pertinent.

If we were to replace Davies, I wonder if there's anyone already within the Club who could take over to ensure a smooth (some might say holistic) transition ??

It certainly seems that the under18s are where the current jewels are so to speak. They look immense both individually and as a team. But being realistic, these lads at that age aren't going to be in the first team. The next stage in the development is the under 23s. We don't want to see the flair, work ethic, pressing, panache and any other good attributes they have built up in their formative years at the academy watered down or even lost in this vital stage before they are ready for the first team.

The under 23s should be the team with the jewels in the crown as we will have had the lads training and playing the way we want them to for four or five years. Anyone who hasn't made the grade by 20/21 is then loaned out to either be in the shop window or gain valuable experience to possibly 'make them'. This way the transition to the first team is more seamless and we have a better chance of unearthing proper footballers who will make it with us. Surely the whole point of the academy?

I would hope for Kompany to be involved one day. Perhaps a couple of seasons to early at present. Why did Vieira leave again?

Good call NB.

I wouldn't mind Zabba being involved as well; the two of them together might make a formidable team.
