yeah, it has been such dramatic change during the year you've been around. It used to be so much better back in the day.

Podolski? NQDP is going to love this ;)
I think most people will agree apart from his one real decent season at Cologne, he hasn't done much in club football. Excellent International record though
Torres waiting game for City
Manchester City are playing it cool over landing their number one strike target Fernando Torres.
The Blues are still hoping that the Spain hitman may be tempted away from Liverpool, and would be prepared to break the British transfer record in order to get him.
But with Torres still involved in the World Cup – and set to feature against Germany in Wednesday night’s semi-final – the Blues are holding a watching brief.
New City signing David Silva ended up in hot water with Spain coach Vicente del Bosque when he discovered that he had been in contact with City over his £29m move while in South Africa.
Del Bosque eventually insisted the deal be made public to end the speculation surrounding one of his players, and has warned other squad members to remain focused on the job in hand.
That is why Torres is refusing to discuss his future until Spain’s involvement in the World Cup is over.
His agent Jose Peton was quoted as saying Torres would not necessarily remain at Anfield but would be staying in the Premier League.
But Peton has flatly denied saying that, and reiterated that Torres will not be making any decisions until he gets back from South Africa.
City made him their top striker target of the summer but were initially put off by indications that he would be looking to move to a club competing in the Champions League.
With Spain’s big two moving for other targets, Chelse reining in their spending, and United unlikely to be in the running, City are prime candidates.
Manager Roberto Mancini made a point that the signing of Silva last week sends out a message to other top players that City are a coming force.
But sources at City deny that was a pointed reference to Torres, who Spanish reports claim has been speaking to Silva about the Premier League while in South Africa – and even suggesting helped to persuade him that City would be a good move.

Man City Set To Land James Milner
MARTIN O’Neill is ready to strike a £30m deal with Manchester City for want-away James Milner.
The Villa boss accepts he is fighting a losing battle to keep Milner at Villa Park – but is ready to play hardball with City.
O’Neill is ready to do business and smash the record transfer sale at Villa, but only if City are willing to throw in Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuoha into the deal.
Villa value Milner at £30m and will want £15m cash plus the two City players who are surplus to requirements for Roberto Mancini.
City have tried to use the duo as part of a deal to tempt Everton to part with Mikel Arteta, but Villa boss O’Neill wants them to switch to Villa Park.
Onuoha’s future is virtually non-existent now that City have signed German international Jerome Boateng, while Villa are desperate to sign a right-back with Luke Young and Habib Beye both set to leave the club.
But O’Neill faces stiff competition from Sunderland to land former England Under-21 star Onuoha.
While the Villa boss has already rejected two bids in excess of £20m for Milner, he realises he is swimming against the tide.
Milner appears to have set his heart on a move to City, having being promised a contract which would more than double his £45,000-a-week deal at Villa Park.
But Ireland, who is valued at £9m, would be a welcome addition to the Villa midfield, which is crying out for an attacking influence from central areas.

fuck maybe switch those prices and it would be better. Milner is worth nowhere near 30 million.

At the risk of starting the same old discussion - I reckon £15M cash plus two blokes who wont play in a top 4 side as long as they've got holes in their wotsits, for a bloke who can make a difference, ain't that bad a deal.
However City NEVER seem to do trade deals.

And Vhero - those 2 players aren't worth anything to us. Neither may be in the 25 squad, in which case we are stuck with 2 players of zero value not playing but raking in the cash - one who stopped playing about the same day he got a big contract.
Milner has the ability to change certain, not all, games, and is a top 4 player.
Cutting off our nose to spite our face - keeping 2 poor players against getting a player Bobby obviously wants - is bordering on the loony, unless he has a decent English alternative, which I very much doubt.
