Bayern Munich are set to turn their attention to Chelsea defender Alex after failing to agree a deal with Jerome Boateng, according to Bild.

The Manchester City defender was keen on the move after a difficult career at Eastlands, where his opportunities have been limited given the form of Pablo Zabaleta.

since when is a few months a difficult career?

you don't think smashing a drink cart into your toe and getting outplayed by an Argie journeyman is difficult? sounds damn hard to me. Ahem.

cheers

EDIT: related, i just recalled that about 2 weeks or so before the season ended my wife was watching Pablo plead with the ref after a challenge -- and pleading the way only an Italian or Argie can do -- and she was complaining about him bitching too much and it literally touched off a fight which practically ruined our weekend. Criticism leveled at Zabs doesn't really sit well with me. He's so much the epitome of what i like in a footballer...versatile, scrappy, tough as nails. Between him and Kompany i'm not sure who i like more on some weekends. Thank you Sparky.

Eh mate, if your Mrs is having a go at Zab's for something like that, it's saying that she's missing something and winding you up for the sake of it. Are you giving her enough attention pal?

Got a sneaky feeling of Dzeko going Madrid and Kaka coming the other way. It's very very quiet something must be happening.

A chap off blue mong, and not a usual itk type, posted in and amongst a thread that all our deals were done a couple weeks ago and just waiting for the right moment / marketing strategy to announce these.

Spot on. Bluemoon has more itk's than any newspaper. Perhaps its quiet on the "Dzeko for Kaka" front because it is in fact a load of fabricated bollox?

If City sell Dzeko after him being on the books for only 5 months and all the work it took to get him in, then I'm the King of Spain.

I give Dzeko to Real deal 0.0% chance of happening.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

The way the bollox is goung at the moment if we said we were after Benjani, the Sun and Mirror would splash exclusives about Chelsea and Utd "hijacking" our bid. I suspect alot of business has already been done and the results will be known in July.

Is it just me, or are the scum just trying to convince the world (and their own nervous fans) that they are serious players in the market and can compete with the richest? Whistling in the wind???

Like us, I don't think this is the Rags handy work, its just the media. Whilst we have had it quite alot over the last 3 years them lot have had it for well over 15 years .... Come August 31st we will all know which clubs have what parts done in their jigsaw puzzles.

No S.American player will be sold until after the Copa America as a good performance will raise the price. That sounds reasonable to me anyway. The gamble by the selling club/agent/player is a shit performance. This may also be why carlos has done nowt either...unfortunately.

This McLeish thing. With all the furore surrounding the two clubs over his 'transfer' people seem to have forgotten to ask the question 'Is this guy good enough to manage Aston Villa?'. He got a team relegated, I know he was really unlucky with injuries but you surely can't blame that alone on Birmingham's departure from the top flight. Villa have gone from Martin O Neill to Houllier to McLeish, thats a downward trend to me. Also they were a consistent 6th place team, only needing investment to tweak a few positions here and there to certainly be on a par with tottenham, and at the start of the season even us. Instead they sold Barry and Milner to champs league rivals (us) and now Ashley Young is basically gone too. What the hell is happening over there seriously?

But the most bizarre thing about the Villa control room is that they seem to have refused their best manager in years Martin O Neill the Milner money, causing him to walk only to hand over £24m for Bent as soon as the January transfer had opened. They're now way behind City, Spurs, Liverpool and Everton in my opinion and I have no idea how this Lerner has gone from a good silent chairman to making decisions that seemingly have no common sense.

And while we're at it with today's news, is Demba Ba any good?

7 goals from 12 appearances after signing for West Ham at the end of january - not bad for his first half-season in the Prem. He's looked useful every time I've seen him play (which is not that often).

regarding Aston Villa, next in line for City to ruin by taking their best players are Arsenal and Spurs.
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

How fckin stupid were west ham to sign him for £7mil and put a clause in his contract that let him leave on a free 6 months later

Maybe that was the only way they could get him to sign. Looking at his Bundes Liga stats he seems to be just above a one in three striker so this last few months could be a 'honeymoon period' rather than him being a late developer, I guess we'll see next season.
