It was that that triggered the action and while blue glasses may see it as unjust, I think if we had not been guilty of that very non-Corinthian behaviour, they may have continued to turn a blind eye to the wages/payments as it seems they did with most other clubs. This is not a part of our history where a victim culture feels appropriate to me.
Shining a light on this era also doesn't help us at the moment as it suggests that of our 4 great eras (measured by trophy success) 2 were built on mountains of cash, and not on"fair play".

They will deem it as a payment from a connected party and disqualify the amount of overpayment from the calculations. They have a catch all clause for any such loopholes.

what if, perhaps, a club elsewhere, funded by uae cash (although no-one would know that) , bought someone like tevez for £50M. That'd be tricky to unravel...
