Wow, that's an absolutely insane assessment of the game for anyone to say, nonetheless a former professional player.

We had 60%+ of the ball could have scored more. They defended well to prevent more goals, but their counter attacks were stifiled by our own fantastic work rate/commitment from the team.

We utterly dominated them and everyone could see it. NBC went on and on about it. All of their pundits. I know Gerrard probably hates us, but that's beyond awful analysis.

That performance was the performance of a Title challenger.

To go to Chelsea and control the game from start to finish is no easy task, yet we just did that. Disciplined all over the pitch, for me it was a complete display. Collectively as a team we performed exceptionally. Was just as good as scoring 5, 6, a game for football connoisseurs.

No doubt the bitter bastards on BT will say Chelsea were shit, and ignore the fact we made them look shit with a complete display against the Champions.

To be fair, Gerrard doesn't sound like he thought Chelsea dominated...

Gerrard said Chelsea "showed City too much respect" saying that our weakness is our back 4 and that Chelsea should have pressed us more, and when Conte subbed Morata that showed they were conceding to a draw at home which he says is poor for "the champions at home" and sends a bad message to fans.

Lampard poo pooed on the excuse about an extra days rest saying that was not the reason the result went as it did...he also just said chelsea "were out played."
