Decent post. You’re allowed to be nervous and convey that in comments in a match thread. All of us want City to win at the end of the day.

You could see that from the fucking off and was always going to be just a matter of time.
Bit too indecisive in th e1st half, probably a bit of nerves.
HT chat put it straight - seen it many many times before.

enjoyed that game - all of it

I think you chose the right username :D

I was just quietly sinking into a 'here we go again' mode as we headed for a 0-0. I've often had the feeling you had above, only to sometimes come a cropper, most recently at Crystal Palace where we probably dominated far, far more than we did last night!

Well nothing is black and white ever. We were looking too slow up front 1st half, but as i said at the time Brighton were way too open and pushing up too much for their own good, and that was the difference between them and Palace. Brighton played into our hands, where Palace were more parking the bus, and it is the bus parking that we can really struggle with when not on full burners.
So for me we were always going to get a breakaway on Brighton, and that is exactly how the first goal happened.
Credit to Potter for trying to play, but doing that made it inevitable.

Yep username does reflect that i see the glass half full until proven otherwise.
Pessimism is very useful, but without balance can simply destroy the ability to see opportunity.
Optimism unchecked can lead to being a total idiot, but is vital in order to see potential.

Up to each of us to navigate that shit, innit.

We need to give Brighton and their manager some credit last night . Brighton played open football and were willing to pass the ball around and try to break forward NOT the anti football everyone behind the ball shite which some clubs adopt , great credit to Brighton. However it was plainly visible after just 5 minutes inside the Etihad last night the city players and fans were mentally exhausted after such a high octane week of football . Dippers twice Atletico bear pit away and loads and loads of travel had took its toll on everyone. Cake walk 2nd half we always find a way (usually) just needed patience, that beautiful priceless commodity !

Good point about the mental drain on everyone, probs magnified by the fact we had to win made everyone that bit more nervous.

Was thinking about how Potter might have seen this game and if it was a free hit then what way of playing would benefit his team most.
If it was me, i would want my players to learn as much as possible from the experience. I think Brighton probably did that, having a go, trying to play seeing if they could control parts of the play, get upfield. I rekon they learnt a lot playing the best team in the league. A lot more than they would have by parking the bus.

We are the best team in the world with the best manager and back room staff in the world chill out and ENJOY the ride ignore the hype .

One thing I'm not is 'hyped'. I enjoyed the Watford Cup final and managed to chill out! Let's hope for a similar result in a few days. Pep is a great manager and I'm glad we have him but before he came I did fancy Klopp and Simeone. I think next season with Haaland ? and Alvarez will be potentially our best. Our issue I believe is not having a true 9

False 9 , one upfront it doesn’t matter . Whatever system we play it will be effective 95% of the time . Work rate first touch and winning the ball back at the earliest opportunity are City’s trademark and most teams can’t live with it . The Haaland hype seeing is believing , the deal if there is a deal will be incredibley complicated with snake Raiola pulling the strings , until anything is official we carry on as we are . Toughest game left this season will be the CL final v the dippers IF we both get there , sit back and enjoy the ride .

The “I’m a better fan than you because I knew we’d win hahahahaha” crew actually make me cringe. Do you really think City fans will be sad that we’ve won?

It’s a match thread and the comments evolve throughout the match. So when it’s 0-0 at halftime, yes there’ll be people worried.

If you want no one to make a comment until the match is over and we have a final score then create a separate thread.

Being negative about being negative, especially after we’ve just won is silly.

Spot on - the ones that do not contribute in the match thread are the same wankers that wait for the final result to start their little piece as if they knew it all along

And when I say Wankers - I mean real wankers who I wouldn’t piss on if they were on fire .

They know who they are .

Injuries to key players are stacking up, we are not clinical finishers, we look tired and no way are we playing as well as we did before Christmas.
Yes we can win both the CL and PL but we are not in our best space to do so. We are performing at about 65% of our potential.
That may not be enough to get us over the line especially as the Dippers have picked it up and are operating at about 90% of their capacity.

8-) @ Dimples
Only real big miss at the moment is Kyle Walker. Nice home fixture to recharge batteries on Saturday then another big one next Wednesday. We were 100% v the dippers at home then Atleti a few days later impossible to sustain those levels over a week never mind a few days . All the pressure has shifted back to the dippers after our result last night 8-)

This is the reason why some of us display our fucking nerves in written form .

Other smug cunts call us Marde arses and other wankers nod their heads in agreement .

The fact Is , well , you’ve basically just stated a close to the bone damning opinion - and I , amongst many fans ,totally agree with you.

If we are getting a lot of injuries then it might be worth making subs once we’re 2 up and getting players that are knackered off. But it’s just a thought.
