I heard we were in talks about Luiz this morning off the same guy who told me we were signing Silva on the same day we signed him. He was right then but I don't post ITK shit on here as I know how fucking annoying it is.

Manchester City have rejected Besiktas' £16.7 million offer for British record signing flop Robinho, according to a report by ESPN Soccernet.

Robinho, 26, has struggled to make an impression at Eastlands since making his historic £34m move two years ago. The Brazilian World Cup star found temporary respite with a loan move to former club Santos in the New Year, but the deal is set to expire on August 4.

Reported moves to Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Valencia have yet to come to fruition this summer, and now the Istanbul giants have made the first bid to rescue Robinho from his City nightmare.

A source told the website: "Having paid £34m, Manchester City would like to recoup £29m but so far have only had the one offer of £16.7m from Besiktas.

"Robinho has been linked with Barcelona but there is little interest from Barca in signing him now, and City's problem is that they cannot keep on loaning a player who cost them so much."

I'd be rather happy geting Luiz but I'm a bit shaky over Ibra, but if he did sign I'd be relatively happy.

BTW Hi to everyone here I hope to have a good stay talking about my beloved city. Cheers ;)

cheers mate! Haven't seen too much of him to have a real opinion.

talking about South Americans, Brian Ruiz from Twente would be a good signing. He's a fitter Santa Cruz, and I actually tink he ould adept to English football even though he's skinny as as straw. I also think he would be OK with being an understudy for a season or so.

Manchester City reject £16.7m offer for outcast Robinho from Besiktas

Manchester City have turned down an offer of £16.7m from Besiktas for their British record transfer signing Robinho.
The Brazilian spent the second half of last season on loan at Santos but has increased his market value with some impressive performances at the World Cup.

Impressive: Robinho showed off his samba style at the World Cup
City do not expect Robinho to play for them again but want to recoup more of the £32.5m they paid Real Madrid for him in 2008.
The player himself is also believed to be reluctant to move to Turkey.

Hmmm. If they offer 20+ I reckon we go for it

The problem isnt whether Besiktas can afford him, its that theres no way in hell he'll go there. Turkey is where Vass and Harry Kewell sod off to for the end of their careers. Robi showed by wanting to feck off to Brazil to play in front of 15000 fans each week that he just wanted the adoration rather than the pressure. And i couldnt imagine Pele landing a helicopter in Turkey.

They might as well just look at the opta stats and say we are going to bid for everyone over a certain score.
Is there anyone any good who we haven't been linked with?

Holland's World Cup finalist Wesley Sneijder has told Inter Milan that he has no intention of leaving the Giuseppe Meazza this summer.

Reports have emerged that Manchester United are planning a £29million offer for the classy playmaker after he helped Inter to the treble trophy success of the UEFA Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia last season.

But as he prepares for Sunday's World Cup final against Spain, Sneijder insists that he is fully committed to the Italians and has seemingly crushed Sir Alex Ferguson's hopes of luring the 26-year-old to Old Trafford.

The Dutchman, who joined Inter in the August of 2009 having failed to make the grade at Real Madrid, said: "I am staying. I will play for Inter Milan next season.

"My heart is in Milan. With Inter, I won everything last season and there's a lot more to win, like the European Super Cup, Italian Super Cup and the World Club Cup, which are all great trophies."

Sneijder is aware of Manchester United's interest, but Inter president Massimo Moratti told the Italian press on Wednesday that the midfielder, the joint top-scorer at this summer's World Cup, was not for sale.

I saw Luiz quite a few times over past couple of seasons as one channel here were showing Portuguese league games from previous season during the summer and as there was fuck all else football on, I ended up watching it quite a lot. Unfortunately they aren't doing it this summer so can't say about last season.

Anyway, Luiz was real standout defender there. Easily the best defensive player on the league (including Veloso). Mostly seemed to play centerback but played leftback as well which is the position I think he'd occupy with us. Then again, I don't rate overly attacking fullbacks and going forward seems to be main thing for many in fullback (no wind up) so opinion of him might be diverse on him.

Then there's the fact that portuguese league has got to be softest league in Europe. So it MIGHT take him time to adapt. Then again, as a player he seems perfect fit for modern Premier League in that he is skillfull, yet still good defender so there's real potential in him to be one of the best defenders in the league. Reminds me bit of Heinze, although not as dirty.

One thing that genuinely makes me happy is that we are linked/signing fullbacks who can play in central defense as well and are defenders first and foremost. I like that.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

There's a disturbing lack of City bollox around the world today. I reckon the journos have actually run out of ideas after linking every player in the world with us, right down to Richard Wright!

Hopefully the club will soon spring one of their special surprises.
