I'm not surprised about Nige leaving but 8m would be fail of epic scale.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

By Christopher Almeras(Featured Columnist) on August 13, 2012

Manchester City fans need to remember the name Jules Olivier Ntcham. Ntcham will be one of the minor transactions over the summer that will receive little press, but will pay big dividends in the future.

Jules Olivier Ntcham is one of the most promising youngsters in France—if not the world. He is currently the captain of France's U-16 squad. the 16-year-old currently plies his trade for Le Havre of Ligue 2 in France.

Talksport has reported the young midfielder has signed a four-year deal with the current Premier League champions. With very little news on the transfer front for most of the summer, Manchester City fans have had to be content with the shiny trophy ripped from the grasp of crosstown rivals United.

What Ntcham brings is a technically gifted midfield maestro with a huge upside. He possesses leadership skills beyond his years, and has the makings of a Patrick Vieira-type player. We have seen the Vieira label placed on many young French players for years, but that comes with players who are physically imposing and move well.

Ntcham is head and shoulders above the competition in his age group from a physical standpoint. He uses that physical presence to win and hold the ball. He has the speed to move past people. His passing vision still needs fine-tuning, but is ahead of the curve for a 16-year-old.

Ntcham comes into an ideal situation where he will be able to grow into his position. The talent at City will only raise his level of play.

With his package of skills, and the training afforded him in Manchester, Ntcham should develop into a box-to-box midfielder who can impose his will from the heart of the midfield. If he reaches only half of the potential his abilities could allow, then Manchester City will have gotten the bargain of the summer.

I don't want him to go anywhere, but would not be in the least bit surprised if it's true.

Not one to go overboard the feller who wrote that, eh? Signing kids that age is ultimate crap shoot. He himself says that he is physically head and shoulders above players in his age group which means fuck all as far as his future prospects go. If anything it might hamper his progress as it's so easy for him right now.

Sounds harsh maybe and perhaps this kid WILL make it to top (fingers crossed) but there's such long way to go. You know since we are talking about french talent I will give you two examples. I saw Jeremy Helan some years ago on Eurosport playing for French U17's (?) and immediately though that this feller is going to be Da Shit. He is still extremely young and has chance of making it, even with us. But it's not like he has broken into team and made that leftside his own. In fact readin EDS match reports it seemed that he was pretty average and very inconsistent. Even bigger and better example, Anthony Le Tallec. I swear I have NEVER seen ANYONE as naturally talented as him in U17 level when he was playing in some tournament. I was like "fucking hell", this kid can do it all. He was giving 50 yard pin point passes straight onto foot while looking elsewhere, dribbling past anyone and everyone all while winning balls in midfield. Simply stunning. Sure he still plays in Auxerre but I repeat, this kid was best I ever saw at that level, before or since.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I get the feeling Drenthe is 'highly strung'. Hopefully it's bollox of the Chinners magnitude.

Goes against all their previous transfer policy, a sign of desperation. It would be a shame if he didn't manage to stay fit for the season !!!

If they keep him fit and get him firing away it's a transfer worth a lot more than 24 million though...

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."
