The difference of having Kun is amazing. What a player.

Got back a couple of hours ago, absolutely amazing display today!! Though, Palace were VERY unfortunate to not get a penalty, Dann was thrown down in our box, he's still a cunt though, disappointed he didn't get a hostile reception for what he did to Sergio!

Delph has been absolutely brilliant recently, I hope he can carry it forward now, he will be great for us!

Wasn't it. One more pass to Ian would have been goal of the season

I've been watching some hihglights from 13-14 to see what we're missing that we did right back then and that combination we just tried, we did them all the time. It feels like I can't watch a highlight from that season without seeing at least one goal stemming from intricate, vertical passing into the oppo's penalty area. THat's how good we were.

Also noted that we had fullbacks, especially Zaba, in the opposition's penalty area time and time again. Why don't we do that anymore?

Exactly why I've been so anxious to get Zabs back. Sagna has been very good but when he is on the wing we are missing one dimension from our attack. Zabs is million times better at making those overlapping runs and runs to the box in general. It's worth noting that more often than not the ball is not even played to him but he draws defenders with him making lot more space for others. Wednesday's game was prime example imo. Lack of runs from Sagna meant Everton were able to double up all game on Navas

Delph and Zabba were very good, Yaya made an instant difference when he came on but I would have preferred Nach to stay on and Fernando to go. I thought he was poor again as was KDB. Nobody was getting their foot on the ball and controlling the midfield. Fortunately that changed with Yaya coming on.
Palace looked pretty and maybe deserved a little more for their enterprise, they were always a threat from set pieces.

And we got away with a good handball penalty shout. Dann is still a dirty twat.

Agree with some of that. Struggling big time in that first half and Palace must have felt really hard done to to be losing at all never mind 2 down. Well done to Delph for having a go and striking it so well even if the keeper should have saved it. And then another fortunate goal with the deflection.

Even 2nd half we didnt start great but well done Pellers for making the change. I was very disappointed to see Kelechi as the one going off when Silva and KDB were so anonymous but it was right to bring someone else into midfield. It couldnt be either Delph or Fern for me as both were playing very well so he took the easy option with Kelechi.

The change and maybe Yaya himself made all the difference and we strolled it from there with 2 great goals. Great to see zaba back and playing well. Well done to Clichy also as sub as I thought he was very good too.

Yes, I agree with your comments Doug. It wax a great game to win but we weren't four goals better than Palace at all.

The first half performance was as toothless as I feared as a consequence of the two 'workers' in midfield. Maybe it's unfair to Delph because he did attack well today. I still no reason to play two against sides like Palace. The very first touch of Yaya's was to set attack on the move. He gets the ball, keeps it, moves it sensibly, and with imagination. and we are better with him.

Incidentally, for whoever said Silva can't win the ball back, take a look at the start of the third goal. Rock 'ard from Big Dave!

Some classy goals, a clean sheet and 3 points ill take that anyway.

The highlights for me were kun getting back to beat, Delph and zabba being immense and silva having a kick back and us getting a goal from it.

What worries me is fucking Fernando chasing the ball like its his and he wants to go home and kdb again showing a complete lack of balls anytime the ball goes near him and a defender is there even if it's more 70/30 than 50/50. He really worries me in tougher games yet still pops up with an assist. My worry is that his stats will always make him look incredible and we pick him when maybe we shouldn't.
Tracking back is overrated.

My thoughts on KDB almost exactly.
You need your big players to turn up for big games, and so far, in the main, he hasn't.

A player who delivers in 4/5 games and turns those from draws to wins are worth their weight in gold even if they go missing in big games. you just need a manager who has the balls to drop them for the big games tor that reason.

It's hard to argue with that. His contribution isn't to be sniffed at. But he is frustrating, particularly away from home.

Silva anonymous ??? was he fuck , he was everywhere and involved in the goals. KDB played underpar granted , but he still made one goal and I'm sure was involved on one other.....that's what he does.

Nacho for YAYA was the right call - Pellers got it right for once.

I don't think he should start away from home. Simple as that. The stats show it. It would let Navas start that gives us better work rate defensively And it would let us break with speed
And if 'plan A' is not working, what an option to being from the bench?
And it would give him much needed rest.

No brainer for me. KDB on the bench and Navas/Sterling to start next week.

Delph is a decent player. Nice to see him play, and play well. Ian was a nuisance for Palace in the first half and showed some good link up play with Silva and Sergio. Nice to see Zaba back and looking fairly decent.

I though Kolarov was brilliant as usual in the first half. Any news on what happened to him? I'm worried.

I think he broke s fingernail. They couldn't find a nail file on the sideline. What s mix up.
