A mention for Ake very good tonight, very solid didn't put a foot wrong.
Of course kev was brilliant. Can't help but think if we started Foden we might have had the creativity to get another goal.

Yes but prefer to keep him fresh and hungry for the Dippers.
Now really looking forward to seeing Foden, Grealish and Kev up against that Dipper high line.

Thought Kev was kinda shite tonight, but a second of brilliance the team makes.

Glad you noticed as well, particularly second half up to his goal, got fleeced at least twice and same with poor passes.
Came alive though at the right time.

The goal aside KDB was not his usual self. Ake, though he wasn't overworked, did what he had to without fuss. One of his best games for us

Probably correct as that is what we would usually expect Nick.
But I think Phil has developed intoseveral roles, even during one game. He can score and provide, so I wouldn't limit any strategy if Phil was playing.

I agree with Beefy that Kevin had a poor night except of course for the run and finish for the goal. He’s not good with his back to the goal and tends to get robbed too easily. He’s better a little deeper running with the ball, head up looking for a killer pass. He did sting the keepers hands with a decent free kick. Only just scraped the ball off the line in the end, Bernie will run through walls but playing up front centrally he got caught in traffic the whole time. Jack got fouled almost every time he got the ball so hard to mark him.

Fucking negative twats they were no real surprise. Thought Pep called the team correct tonight wirh Foden and Grealish coming on to give fresh legs against tired legs - should bode well for the scouse twats. Good morale booster not that we needed it. Well done boys one game won and we move on

Ake motm for me also, really good. The only thing bad about him is you can't see his offensive contribution is not there yet, maybe if he gets more comfortable playing there we will see it, but his overall game was top notch.

I think it's a fantastic win, in Madrid it will be difficult, but if we score first there is no way they will come back from that. I think they will play the same and open up late in the game.

Foden is currently in a run of being anonymous if he starts, but super-sub if he comes on.

Diego Simeone (Atlético de Madrid): "I must admit we thought Phil Foden would start. I'd also confess that it's enjoyable to see how Manchester City play. But we were both seeking the same thing, winning..."

Nice to hear this for a change and not the "Hork hork, hur hur hur" from Dyche.

Pep Guardiola called on Manchester City to keep their emotions in check at Atletico Madrid next week.

Tuesday night's slender 1-0 victory threatened to spill over late on when substitute Jack Grealish was regularly targeted by Diego Simeone's side.

Angel Correa was booked after kicking a ball at Grealish when the forward lay on the ground. Guardiola ran on the pitch, reportedly shouting 'you're mad' at Correa.

The City boss expects similar scenarios during next Wednesday's second leg at the Wanda Metropolitano but urged his squad not to respond to provocation.

'We have to control our emotions and do what we have to do,' Guardiola said. 'There will be a referee there. Atletico have known the knockout stages many times and it will be a good test for us with our maturity.

The referee is there. It's not my job. Jack reacted really well and stayed focused on what we needed to do.'

Basically, you’re a horrible bunch of twats!

I just realised that we will not get Lahoz until the final (if Madrid goes through also).
Happy days,

I’m trying to work out who is worse - Porto or AM for their snide tactics.
