Tevez has been very good, has covered loads of ground and had plenty of the ball.Hes had some lovely lay offs and through balls. If finshing had been better he could have had a couple of assists to his name.

just because he is our best player doesn't mean you have to say that he had brilliant game when he didn't.

His decision to pass to Messi when they were four against two on counter attack was nothing short of abysmal. He had player (Higuain?) wide open on his left who would've been almost guaranteed to score. Otherwise he was fairly anonymous and didn't link up with Higuain at all.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Judging by the way Higuain finished today, I don't think he was guaranteed to do much of anything. Agree that Carlos wasn't great though

After watching Higuain today I am glad we didn't sign him. I doubt he could cut the premier league with a performance like that. Too slow at deciding where to shoot and when he does do a quick shot without thinking it always went wide. He doesn't have the speed for the prem Spain is perfect for him. Tevez assist to Higuan though in first half was fucking magic they should have scored.. But that's what I mean he couldn't score when he only had the keeper to beat. Tevez I thought had an okay game to be fair. But he is playing on the wing like he did at the scum and like it proved at city he prefers a central striker role.

has been quite poor all game.

You have got to wonder whether Maradona has any system in his mind. So far their players just run around with no real plan. Gutierrez in some sort of wingback role? Weird. They are going to get beaten once they meet good side unless they improve.

Not at the time of my comment, he hadn't (which was quite early in the match). He had played some sublime throughballs, won pretty much everything he went in for, and created one or two opportunities.

One thing past WCs have taught us is that you can never judge a player for the PL on this stage. Tevez and Higuain may look dodgy, just as El Hadj Diouf and Poborski looked sensational!

Must admit though, being used to PL games, the standard of football so far in all the games is dire!

1.Since you dont like the world cup.. why dont you go and do something else.. that way you might not be so inclined to come on here and butt in on threads about the world cup spinning miserable shit.
2. Where exactly does G&B write the word briliant ??
3. Tevez played as well as any other out there and better than some.. lots and lots of good through balls and potential assisits, just as G&B's post stated.

1. What am I supposed some Argentine fan now? Their results and way they play don't make me happy nor sad. My only hope is that Tevez will not get injured.
2. Very good, brilliant. Same difference.
3. Tevez did not play particularily well. Then again, apart from Messi, Heinze and Nigeria goalkeeper neither did anyone else. Still, he was NOT very good. Nothing like he has been for us throughout the season.
4. Why don't you go to vivaargentina.com to celebrate if you are such a big fan?

You've rarely met an argument you didn't Like.

How about Milner on the wing? Ok or not? And green in goal?

Cheers

Milner is okay on the left, usually starts right or centre as Young starts on the left for Villa, he is competent enough. Green is in goal as he is the obvious choice.

Are we really expected to make comments on all the games over the next month in one tread?

I reckon a thread for each game would make a lot more sense!

I tried to sleep, BUT THIS IS THE WORLD CUP!

I have a cup of coffee and its 2:15am at the moment, luckily I stayed up last night for the France v Uruguay match as well so clock is well and truly adjusted.

Green is the only logical choice, James is struggling with a calf injury I think, Hart is a kid with zero big tournament experience.(And Capello apparently doesn't rate him) The one that annoys me even though I expected it is FUCKING HESKEY.
