Is it just me or Joe has a little complacency problem after Shay went to Villa and Pantilimon came as a backup?

Anyhow, finally is good that the table starts with us.

I think it's his age really, not too much to worry about. Keepers need a bit of cockyness in my opinion.

i feel the same way...that was a lot of work to do what i felt was the minimum expected. Leaking two goals wasn't pretty. our backline looked challenged.

On a positive for Bolton how good would they look with the couple long-term injured players like the Korean winger they're missing in their side?

He was pretty much pap mate...have a look at highlights and see his positioning for the first goal and outjumped by chicken breast Davies for their second.

I was DJing this afternoon so missed the 1st half but got home for the 2nd, but from what i seen, Milner and Silva were fookin amazing together.
Was good to see Micah blocking Petrov's crossing to..Would of been pissed off if he set a goal up because you could so tell he was desperate to get one over on us.

agreed, he was the weak link (and this in a defence that included Kolarov!), the way he's played the last few games I think Kolo will probably walk back into the team in September. He seemed to have really sorted his game at times last season but just not good enough now. He might make some good challenges but also far too many shaky moments

honestly asked myself when Toure can play again as i watched today...which is dubious at best.

mancini wants another CB if you believe the rumours.

maybe it was just an off day for Lescott -- he's looked way way more like a player we should have than someone who won't cut it over the last 12 months so i'm willing to let this one ride. It cost us no points, but should be a wakeup call for the backline. And Joe.

cheers

Interesting that De Jong was off and both Milner and Barry had their best games for us.

Dzeko was phenomenal again.

Lescott was really poor.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Dzeko for me, beating Milner and Barry. Milner maybe showed us what he can do today, superb effort and performance.

Hes a good defender but not good enough to be a starter imo....clearly at fault for their 2nd and was suspect for their 1st.

Very suspect. The 2nd was pathetic defending.

Lots of things to be happy about though. We looked, at one stage, like there were 10 options every time we went forward. Maybe too many options, if you know what I mean. I know this, there are several teams going to get done 6 by us this year, we look full of goals.

Having seen everyone twice, almost, it's between us and The Rags for the league. I think Spurs might be the 3rd team, not Chelsea or Arsenal. Chelsea look slow and predictable, Arsenal Just a mess.

Got to say, I thought that was a cracking game where I thought we should've been 4 up before the break. Dzeko's coming into his own now and with the likes of Milner, Barry and Yaya able to cover for Nige and push forward individually, it just shows how much depth we've got in that department. Where we lost it a little was the cover that a true DM provides which showed more and more as the game went on and we began to tire.

Thought the ref gave everything to Bolton if he could and Aguero's goal should've stood; no way was that a free-kick for Petrov.

Fair play though, Bolton are going to take a few points off the top sides with their style of football this season so to come away from their with 3 points is a big plus.

Top of the League, more than happy with that.

PS. Did Mancini just say he hopes for the Nasri deal to be completed by tomorrow?

Was a great game to watch and a million positives to get excited, Im sure Mancini will have plenty to say about the defending to his players in any case.

Barry Milner dzeko were outstanding..even Kolorov played a great game today..probably his best.

I think that's right, Beefy, I didn't think of it at all. The value of NDJ is immense to this side. I thought we ran out of steam after 70 minutes and having a player like NDJ to marshall you through those tricky last 20/25 is important.

Also though, Tevez is in his usual pre season condition; 2 yards slower not the same workrate. A fully fit Tevez chasing the ball down would have been like having an extra defender.
