I heard a story about him from someone who rents a house from the same landlord as Tevez about going round to Tevez's rented house and finding that him and his mates from Argentina who apparently just sit and play computers games and there was one of them who could not even be bothered to go to the toilet and would just shit on a newspaper and wrap it up and leave it there for the cleaner to pick up. True story. I heard it last year when he was everyones hero so kept it to myself.

I maybe do not buy the depression story but it would be understandable. He is not a normal guy. He was not cut out for the life he lives and certainly does not make his own decisions. He is a puppet for other people and has no say in his own life. No amount of money could make me want to live his life.

I havent trawled through all of this thread but I've heard people scoff at him being depressed then mention 'how can you be depressed on 200k a week' I've never suffered from it myself but know many who do. I have been down because of certain situations recently and its a horrible feeling but one I can and have shaken off. To be clinically depressed like he is claiming is completely different and it does not matter how much money or perceived happiness you should have. It's always there.

Playing devils advocate. It made me laugh post Munich with a whole host of ex players, pundits, and I am sure even people on this board saying he had committed the worst thing a player could do. Really? Is he worst than say someone who has killed someone as there are a few of those earning thousands of pounds playing football in England or someone who has constantly cheated on wife whilst projecting himself as sqeeky clean? What about a drug cheat? Assaulted his own team mate? Or sexually assaulted a women. Tons of them playing every week. A granny shagger and a tax dodger? Match fixing anyone?

He's a fucking idiot that is for sure. But this whole affair has be blown out of proportion.

He wasn`t toooooo depressed to get on the plane to Argentina. He`s actually pissing up the back of those that do suffer from it. He`s a wanker and you can`t get a sick note for that.

So did we match his ambition or his wages? How has he repaid us? Did we do better with him in the squad or without?

Couldn't care less whether Tevez is a strange man, or not. Couldn't care two hoots that he's given everything on the pitch, last season, for us.

Not bothered if he's clinically depressed, mentally retarded, HIV positive, infested with some untreatable venereal disease, suffering from cancer, mad cow disease or anything else for that matter. The simple fact is, is that he's attempting, for whatever evil and deranged reason on his perverted agenda, to drag City's name and reputation through the gutter.

For that reason - and that reason alone, in my opinion, he ought to be strung up from the nearest lamp-post in downtown Buenos Aires.

Hate the lousy swine utterly and completely, for what he's doing to our Club.

Depressed? My arse!

"The 27 year-old, who was photographed playing golf at the weekend with leading Argentine Andrés Romero, has now been absent without leave for more than a week after flying to Buenos Aires on Nov 7. "

Just speculation mate, they're using the Mutu case as a precedent but this is a lot different. If we can prove that he is intentionally diminishing his value as well as the gross misconduct charges we could really take him to the cleaners. Hope so anyway.

Just transer his wages weekly to worthy causes worldwide, make it public, and you will see his true colours or his fee taking machine kick off. City could do worse and to boot show the wankers what they are if anyone had any doubts.

Whatever happens next with Tevez, it was certainly not a mistake to sign him. He did the job we brought him in for & was hugely instrumental in getting us to the position of strength we have now. If it wasn't for Platini's attempts to handicap us financially, this wouldn't even register on the Sheikh's 'to do' list anyhow. He'll have ashtrays that are worth more than Tevez. It's an inconvenience, nothing more.

Exactly

You've got rags saying that Taggart had a 'masterstroke' not signing Tevez and that he had some 6th sense foresight not to sign him

Bollocks

They threw everything they could at him in the last minute, offering to make him the best paid player in their clubs history

Fact is, he came to us and almost single handedly dragged us into the CL place and the FA Cup Final...for that alone...despite me hating his guts...he has been worth every penny we have spent on him

just came across this old piece from when he left scum

(CNN) -- Manchester United have confirmed that on-loan Argentine international striker Carlos Tevez is to leave the English Premier League champions.
chief executive David Gill had been in discussions with Tevez's advisor Kia Joorabchian, with the aim of keeping the forward at Old Trafford.
But, despite the offer of a lucrative five-year contract that would have made Tevez one of the highest paid players at the club, the South American has decided to leave.
"Following contact received from Carlos Tevez's advisors on Friday night, in advance of the deadline the club set for concluding negotiations, Manchester United announce that Carlos will not be signing a new contract with the club," said a statement released by United on Saturday.
"The club agreed to pay the option price of £25.5 million ($42m) and offered Carlos a five year contract which would have made him one of our highest-paid players at the club.
"Disappointingly however, his advisors informed the club that, despite the success he has enjoyed during one of the club's most successful periods, he does not wish to continue playing for Manchester United.
"The club would like to thank Carlos for his services over the last two seasons and wishes him good luck for the future."
But Joorabchian, talking to TalkSport radio, had a different take on what actually happened, insisting the decision to reject a five-year deal at Old Trafford was not down to money so much as the fact United left it so late to put an offer on the table.
"Carlos was very much a part of the Manchester United team the last two years but clearly the last year he's been very disappointed," said Joorabchian.
"He has a feeling that maybe he wasn't the most wanted person at United. Rightly or wrongly, that's how he feels. I personally think United made a fantastic contribution to try to secure him with a last-ditch offer but I think it was a little bit too late and there wasn't enough time for Carlos to think about it."
Joorabchian admitted his client would be leaving Old Trafford with a heavy heart. "I think Carlos is not happy, he's a little bit sad," he added. "He's had two years at the club, two great years. They've won two Premier League titles, one Champions League title, one Carling Cup in his time and he's quite sad.
"United's offer was a very good one. It came about 10 days ago but Carlos needed time. I want to make it very, very clear that we never, at any time, asked them for more money."
The news will be greeted with dismay by United supporters, who had warmed to Tevez's all-action style during his two-year 'loan' spell that included successive Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2008.

There have been rumours of Tevez's "depression" going back well over a year in the press. Wasnt he supposed to be seeing a shrink in Argentina? At the time it was linked to "missing his family" and the stories were strongly denied by Tevez and his advisers.

It would dramatically reduce a players value if he were or had been "clinically depressed". Whether he is or not who knows? It seems "very convenient" to play the card now.

I dont necessarilly see it as a bad thing if he doesnt come back to the club. It would be a distraction to the other players seeing him around the club.

We need to move on and focus on our current stars. Seven out of our next eight games are "very tough".

He is also worth every penny we will lose on him. This shit just doesn't matter aslong as we keep marching on.

whatever way we dice it the player wants out, he or his advisor have NEVER said he wants to stay at our club, for me this about bring the cost down so Corinithians can do as cheaper deal they can with us and pay him top whack, this applies to Inter or
Real Madrid. I think he is heading and has been since the end of last season. His international manger has not seen fit to call him up much and his self esteem is low I agree some depression, however his football life is one issue to the next, Sheff Utd, and so on , his advisor is not very good IMHO. He does have have the gift of B.S which most papers and pundits love, me I see a bullshitter doing very well out of a game of the people something Carlos was once, but now he is slave, the outbusrts are controlled by the puppet master Kia and Carlos should take a long look at the last few years his advisor is the root problem, pity Carlos has no one to say take a look you fool, maybe Zabba is the one to advise him he looks a dick or maybe he has and Carlos has run away.
