We have played well in defence these last 2 games (apart from the one fuck up that we conceded today)...hmmmmmm interesting.

How were we only offside 8 times? Sure I counted about 20! Or is this only the times we were correctly offside?

just landed back in Zürich with Alex and Mati on board for the Serbian Game tuesday against Chile in St Gallen !

two very nice guys , wished em well for the match .

As far as the stats for the game . they should measure timewasting too ! spurs goalie from the start was especially good at it

I was fuming when they were almost walking backwards when subbed but then pissed my sides when we did exactly the same when we took the lead. Sergio even stopped to stretch his hamstring just to make the point. Class.

I noticed that Friedel (Sp?) was taking time out of the game after about 12 minutes. It was funny watching him at the death running to collect the ball like a character from one of those silent films at about 100 hundred miles an hour.

Imo, Maicon is not a week in week out Premier League fullback, it's not the right league for him, but what he is still to this day, is a high quality , multi title winning, Champions league, World Cup winner; basically, a fucking Champion, who came on the pitch, to play for the Premier League Champions, to pisstaking jeers from supporters of by far the worst team we have played this season.

The jumped up, big headed, loud mouthed cockney cunts got one hell of a surprise when their golden boy (who has won FUCK ALL in his career) was totally made to look like a fucking school kid. And Vertonghen !! What a bullet we dodged there: DOGSHIT.

I gave the opinion when he signed that Maicon could be a useful aquisition, mainly as a wingback & mainly to play in that system v shit teams. Spurs are a shit team. Really really shit.

It was a worthwhile gamble to try the system v them & it worked well (although it had little to do with the goals) but it is still a last resort system & if we try it against a proper team, we could easily be arse raped just like we were v Ajax.

Great comeback & big win for City but Spurs are shit. I've rarely seen such utter, clueless shiteness from a Prem side with such a reputation. I could do about 6 threads on aspects how fucking dreadful they were & still think of something else. Watch the weak efforts they had closing down Yaya just as an example, compared to Dortmund for instance, who mugged the fuck out of him.

Bale= lazy wanker, don't want him anymore after that

AVB is a gonner, it's only a matter of time.

City on the other hand, took another step towards becoming a team again. Lets get this Chumps Lg shite over with and get our confidence back.

HOWEVER, one bad spot again= set pieces; all were awful. Also, to put Kolarov & Yaya in the centre of our defence for a free kick , deserves Mancini, Platt & Kidd a fucking dunces cap and a pie in the face each. How the fuck can anyone give Yaya that job after watching him v Ajax ? 19 year old Nastasic tried to get accross to cover for the pair of them because they were so shite.

Get your fucking act together & sort it out Mancini, & you will have another title to celebrate.

We upped the pace on the last quarter and got the win we deserved, if not for our endeavour then nothing else.

We simply have to stop conceding daft goals, as its every week now ffs.

Maicon's introduction changed things for us, spreading the play and forcing Bale and Vertonghen further back. In home games where we are going to dominate possession, Maicon will be a useful asset. Away at places like Chelsea/Man U etc, he shouldnt be near the pitch.

So 35 games at home unbeaten, 17 unbeaten in all, 2nd in league? I wish we could break out of this apparent slump and crisis we are in. I watched 10 mins of Sunday Supplement yesterday and you would think we were 5 points adrift at the botttom, as all the old cliches were out - it must surely be time for a Sunday Supplement Bingo card, and you can tick off the following phrases as they are trotted out

"Troubled Squad"
"Things clearly arent right"
"Dzeko not happy with his role"
"Mancini under pressure"
"No team spirit"
"Champions League failure"
"Team of individuals"
"Struggling to get it right"
"Dont know their best XI"
"Zonal marking"
"Defensive frailties"
"Kompany out of sorts"
"Balotelli petulance"
"Balotelli a problem"
"Balotelli not worth the hassle"
"Balotelli/Tevez/Dzeko/ etc want out"

Saw some real signs of progress in that game.Dave was great (except infront of goal), we pressed and challenged the feck out of their midfield which was good tactics as Spurs have often out played us in mf, and starved Bale of the ball whilst still getting forward up the right.Edin and Sergio finally came good.Ya Ya had his best game for me.Questions remaining. Will Carlos ever get back to his best, he no longer terrifies teams with his dribbling in the box. Will Garcia ever get to the pace? Big plus, Maicon. Went at the full back for the first time and his crossing is better than Zab and Mica's on that evidence.Looked like the athlete he will need to be.3 at the back worked well. Were Spurs shite? difficult to say because I think Bert got it spot on, apart from the comedy at their goal. Are you sure they were working at set pieces in training Doug and not rehearsing for the Xmas pantomime, lol.I also thought the panto had everything with loads of goodytwo shoes in blue and loads of villains in various combinations of black.Lots of booing and cheering and a happy ending.

Perhaps what is needed is for somebody on here to explain exactly how they should work on defending corners/free kicks and I will pass it on to Mancini. Given they will stay with zonal plus 2 or 3 markers what precisely would be the instructions to give to all the players involved, bearing in mind of course what they have already been told to do.

It is as simple as the player(s) nearest to the flight of the ball attacks it and knocks any attackers out of the way that dare to go for the ball. Should the entire EDS group be used as attackers and they spend hours every day whacking balls in for them to go for?

Is it the whole group failing or just 1 or 2 players and thus replace them in the box and we are sorted.

What really annoyed me about the extra minute added was that Tottenham had the ball for the whole minute, as soon as joe hart released Maicon to run into an empty half of the pitch he fucking blew up. Petty I know but it was annoying.

It did bring shades of the Derby a few years back.

Best thing was Kolarov going to twat Lennon and then Walker.

In what fuckin world do those two muppets even think that they're hard?! I'm pretty sure Walker went to headbutt Kola, you know a fake headbutt to see the other guy flinch. Kolarov didn't move an inch.

On a side note, I reckon Kolarov has definitely murdered someone in the past. Either that or he's got a dead body in his boot right now.

Not a clue what specifically is wrong Doug except that we keep getting done by movement. Suspect its just Nasti not being as physically dominant as Lescott normally is plus a few doubts arising from Bert's not trusting Lescott who I think the players rate.Shit will happen, of course, and were defending quite well otherwise.Spect it will come right eventually.
