3pts

Sweeeet, there were some good signs in that match. A good three points well earned.

Nastasic made a fantastic clearance in the first half but I don't know if he had a great game. I think the defense, as always when Garcia and Nastasic make up the centre of it, lacked structure and solidity. West Ham's goal summed it all up IMO.

Great game though. Sergio for the win!

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

This is more like it. Will hopefully do something for our away confidence. We still have a superior goal difference, we're only three points away from the top, and we've finally launched Soton from unfamiliar territory. We just need to sort Arsenal and Liverpool out, and Chelsea won't be too difficult to work on.

Good performance overall, although it wasn't really any different from our previous away performances. We were helped by the fact West Ham didn't play a striker.

Strong performances from Negredo, Aguero, Silva, Yaya and Fernandinho. I thought today was Fernandinho's best game for us - was actively involved in our attacking play, whilst carrying his defensive duties effectively. Negredo is increasingly looking like a fantastic purchase and he very much deserved a goal today.

Still a worry that any time West Ham went forward they looked like they could score. A bigger concern is that Pellegrini thinks that a Garcia-Nastasic partnership is good enough. I'm hoping he was just resting Lescott for the Champions League, but I fear not. The West Ham goal summed up the defensive ability of Garcia and Nastasic - when the ball was in the air, both were just following the ball and not even looking at where the players they were supposed to be marking were.

I'm obviously happy with the result, but we didn't really see any signs today that Pellegrini has recognised where our weaknesses lie and he continues to persist with options that are not good enough in defence.

I would add Silva to that list.Well deserved his goal.Just a tad worrying how easily we gave the ball away at times when WHU were actually trying to get forward and how easily they found men in space to lob crosses in.

Shame Utd went above Hull in the table today are they on a roll? hahahahaha

I thought it was very nice to see Richards get a full 90 minutes.
He still looks rusty, but he's getting there. It was probably a good choice playing him as well, getting some extra height and strength in the back four against a quite big West Ham team. And let's not forget: Zabba's looked out of form lately. A bit of competition / a little rest might do him good.

Fine performance today for the most part. The left side is still a huge worry. We got raped down it against the german rags and there's still no sign of it been shored up. I thought it got worse when kolorov came on if that makes any sense. Going forward we were excellent and deserved a couple more goals I felt. Poor goal to concede even if it was offside. Both centre halfs culpable there. Nice to get our first away win on the boards. Onwards and upwards!

Obviously a good win and a vital one. WHU decided to play their defensive game and maybe it helped us because our key 3 creative players all had very good games,Silva,Yaya and Sergio. We dominated most of the game and although we might think we need to finish chances better it was great to control the game as we did and create as much as we did.

The only concern is that a weak WHU side caused us problems and a little panic. It would not be right to say it was because we were weak at center back because I think both Javi and Nasti had very decent games.I am not even sure it was because the full backs were poor ( although I do think Gael was very iffy) Add to that Fernandinho having a great game and it's puzzling that we were not rock solid but we were a bit rocky at times.

It's all about the team defending and with 4 clearly attacking players plus Yaya it obvious that we will give space and therefore opportunities at times which means we will look a bit more open than we would like but I think we will have to get used to it.

I wouldn't worry too much mate. we got a good result away against the type of team that causes us problems. we can't win 3 or 4 nil every game.
Still here.

Its the same system Fat Sam played against Spuds and truly dented their "drive for the Premiership title", it's also reminiscent of the Munchen's against us when they played 5/6 in midfield/up front. Therefore I think it does take a while to adjust against that formation and bearing in mind the spuds result we coped better than them!!

Oh he did !

Here's the thing ( tag it btw , some great interviews by Alex Baldwin).

A couple on here have tried to piss on Nastis chips.

Hey,we are without our centre back pairings and inspite of others worrying about Garcia. Or Lescott missing, Nasti just rises above it. He made one unnecessary bad pass in the second half, otherwise he had an excellent game.
