Worst thing about today was not just the fact a most of the international players took their foot off the gas and had one eye on the WC - but even one of our own in Foden did the same. Fuck me id run through a brick wall to play for City, some of these cunts don’t care.

No plan b and one substitution :?

That also, but how long are we going to continue with the full backs issues?
Anyone from the outside can see that we have a critical problem, and the full backs are crucial elements in Pep's system. In his second year he changed all of our full backs because he needed player that can work with his tiki taka.
Lewis and Esbrand surely can't be worse that what we have.

Also, imho, Bernie-Kevin-Gundo cannot work all of three at the same time.

Same old issues, same old problems.

Very rarely does anything worthy of note. Obviously reads too much Roy of the rovers with his shooting and Hollywood passes that come off a couple of times per season. I was wondering part way through the game how shit he has to be before getting subbed.

He's been terrible other than the very occasional Hollywood pass. I posted the other week that the CityXtra lads, whom I really like, had a show discussing whether or not Cancelo was the best full-back in the world. You could not make it up. JWE deserves a go because the Gomez lad is nowhere near good enough. We have to buy, plain as day.

We all roll our eyes at Sterling but it looks like we don’t have any players capable of beating a man on the outside any longer. The lack of confidence to take players on is staggering.

Also agree on the full back issue (which is kind of linked as there is 0 overlap).

Fucking crap.

At least we have Walker to come back. The left though, Pep will just persist with his bestie in Cancelo. That will ultimately cost us.

We miss Walker. Very difficult for Bernardo with Stones playing there. Dias might have been a better option than Akanji given the aerial threat from Toney and co.

I don’t understand the tactic of inverted winger in front of inverted left back against a packed defence but he obviously doesn’t trust anyone else at lb. It’s gonna cost us.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

There also something that is alarming imho.

Same as Salah, their goal came after we had a corner and they caught us a break.
The set piece department, so important under Mancini, became really problematic for some years now.

Why does he keep playing Silva on the right out of position? Alverez, mahrez and Grealish had good games and get benched!

Missed the last 10 minutes, seems like I missed nothing. Was pissing me off, them wasting time all game, the officials dictating the state of play and us not babble to do anything behind their back 10.

Time for a break.

Generally that has been our downfall with Pep's style of play. If there is no penetration to bye line then we struggle and have done for a few years

It’s always my worry when playing in a tight game. Pep will always want his team to go for the win so there’s always going to be a point, if we aren’t winning, that we leave huge amounts of space at the back. Today was one of those days where Brentford out-Stoked the best Stoke ever.

A famous manager said, if you do not look like you are going to win, make sure you do not lose, perhaps Pep should take that on board
