No outstanding team, every side has weaknesses that can be exploited by a good side.
For me there are eight possible winners, the usual suspects: Brazil, Argentina, France, Spain, England, Germany, Portugal and Netherlands.
I think it comes down to which team can improve, gel and click at the right time (and have a player that can inspire them).
I rule out:
Brazil - show ponies with a Rag midfield of Casemiro and Fred. Your having a laugh.
Argentina - very average with a fading Messi, who will not be able to do what Maradona did in 1986.
Portugal - their weakness is Ronaldo. Get rid of him (they won't) and they have a good chance.
France - fantastic to watch. Their greatest strength is their greatest weakness, so Mbappe will bring them down (but he could do a Maradona)
Spain - real quality, great to watch but to soon for them, to young and to inexperienced up front.
England - their biggest weakness is Southgate. For starters the defence he picks - Pickford, Maguire and Shaw, the tactics? Not a chance.
That leaves Germany and Holland. Neither might get out of the group stages but if they do:
Germany are a quality side, they have the potential to get a lot better.
Their play against Japan was high quality, schoolboy errors cost them both goals. They will eliminate those mistakes.
They were quality against Spain also. They have pace and a good mix of youth and experience.
Holland will be tough to beat and they can score goals.
Madness maybe but I am backing Germany and Holland tomorrow, before their odds shorten dramatically if they manage to qualify from the group stages.
