You might want to compliment Fulham for not giving up. At the end of the game they were all very proud of the way they fought back.
Fulham didn't fold and made a game of it , to their credit. It is not always poor decisions from City . City scored one more than Fulham and therefore get three points.

Did we play well ? No
We scored 4 beautiful goals, credit to Fulham for taking our invitation to come back into the game, we were awful in the second half particularly, yes three points as I said, but could and should have been so much better given the position we were in at 50 mins…5-1 up and all that !

Fulham were great in that second half. Their subs and their gung ho spirit knocked the wind out of us. Haaland was unlucky not to get a hattrick but hitting the woodwork? They were easy goals for him .their subs attacked both our full backs and exposed us repeatedly. Nunes aint a defender, Oreilly was too far up the pitch and left massive gaps. Our subs were pointless and changed nothing.
I would have put Khusanov at RB, hooked Nunes.
Moved o reilly into midfield and covered LB with Ake and i would haved hooked Silva
Doku i would have subbed with Cherki.
Watching City at present is killing me, Pep how did Fulham , Leverkusen, Newcastle etc etc stuff us. Leeds. ? . To be where we are in the table is a mockery. A better idea would be to look at the chumps league.

I think everything went wrong when he put Stones in the middle to replace Nico.
Same as last year, he wanted to be clever and play with no natural DM and same as last season it backfired really bad.

One might learn when this happens for the 10th time, but he will not. And something like this will happen again, sooner or later.

Again, the only positive for two games in a row is Phil Foden

It was eerily reminiscent of last year immediately after Rodri's injury - Nico stood his ground, but the fullbacks weren't quite at the races, so Fulham were able to play really simple triangles to bypass the midfield and every chance they had was either on a plate or went in.

Funny that, considering the similarity this year and last is primarily that we don't have full-backs - and considering the importance of the role of full-back for years now in Pep's system. Putting stones on was already after we'd lost the midfield, he never stood a chance while the fullbacks were being pulled all over the place and playing way too far forwards.

So we ended the game with 2 full-backs who aren't fullbacks, a DM who isn't a DM, and 2 fairly lightweight players up ahead of him. It highlights our squad's fragility, particularly in the other 2 midfield positions.

Of those goals Fulham scored, the first one we should have not left Smith-Rowe unmarked.

The other 3 were all great strikes and the xg was ridiculously low, but they scored. The reason why, have a look at how Leeds defended in that first half against us last week, they were throwing their bodies in the way of the ball and getting blocks in. We should have been 5-0 up at HT in both games.

Leeds don't stand there with their arms behind their backs, turning away and sticking the leg out a couple of inches.

Also. Savinho is not someone who is a backs against the wall warrior. He gave the ball away needlessly time and again, notable for the corner which lead to a goal.

The one thing he did do good one time was carry the ball out of danger from our penalty area, did well to relieve the pressure instead of hoofing it like most did.

Severe lack of composure from the whole team in the last 20 mins

Theirs were all good goals but all from our errors. Nunes, Silva, Savinho all culpable from memory.
Foden was great, Haaland decent and that was about it. Donna was poor with a few of the corners, both full backs terrible, Doku gave the ball away constantly and Bernardo can not play twice in a few days, he was poor.

For all that we scored 5, hit the woodwork 2 more times and missed a last minute sitter with Gvardiol so could easily have been 8.
We've given away 6 crazy goals the last 2 games but won them both and if we'd won them both 1-0 we'd be complaining about boring City, sideways passes etc. There's a lot better played football now, if Arsenal drop points against Villa Saturday it could get interesting. That's assuming they win today.

All that can be done is to think back to Alan Ball. Everything else just seems wonderful

I see Jack the Thighs scored yesterday ,good for him
He would have been perfect in that 2nd half yesterday would have received the ball drawn foul after foul and disrupted their mommento no end
