Ozil impressed and unimpressed me at the world cup.

Went missing in the big games which for me is a big big worry.

We have Silva now anyways to be our creative player. I doubt very much Ozil is still on our radar.

I gather that Arsenal have already gone after Ozil, not saying we can't but........

Also according to M*rror we're looking at Podolski?

They give some proper shit odds.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

If he was they wouldn't have felt the need to publicly beg for a buyer!

As for those odds - still can't see Bellers leaving, and as for Luiz, we offered 18, they said 30 and we said goodbyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Inter Milan tell Manchester City to pay £34m for Mario Balotelli

Inter Milan will demand £34million from Manchester City for Mario Balotelli with new manager Rafa Benitez ready to cash in on the temperamental striker.

A City delegation was in Milan last week to thrash out a deal for the striker, 19, although an opening offer of £20m was rebuffed.

A renewed effort to reunite Balotelli with former Inter coach Roberto Mancini is expected this week, although City are likely to offer less than the European champions' asking price, with the remainder payable in performance-related instalments.

Progress has stalled because Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola has been busy sorting out Martin Jol's move from Ajax to Fulham.

right below that story they have this one saying City are in Milan today ( monday) to tie up the deal.. and Milan and
agent are expecting the deal to be sorted soon.

Do they actually employ a sports editor at the Mail ? Do they read their own articles?

A few interesting snippets from the Times north west football correspondent James Ducker, on Twitter

"MCFC have not bid for balotelli yet but talks with inter are ongoing. Kolarov deal should be done in the next 48-72 hours"

MCFC 'We can categorically state we have no interest in signing drogba and any suggestion of an approach is entirely without foundation' - That was #MCFC's response to claims by drogba's agent that he'd had direct contact with city and that there could be a surprise in store

Nice to see us highlighting Agent BS. Drogba's agent now clearly highlighted as a liar manufacturing stories and using us to try to get a rise for his client.

DIDIER DROGBA'S agent has revealed he is in talks with Manchester City over a £20million move.
Thierno Seydi admitted he had spoken directly to City about the 32-year-old Chelsea striker.
Seydi said: "Today he's at Chelsea. Maybe there will be surprises before August 31.
"I haven't spoken to just anybody. The only contact I've had directly was with City."
Seydi told Radio Monte Carlo: "At his age I can no longer hide the financial aspect.
"The club that want Didier will have to meet the price."
City plan to give Drogba a three-year deal worth £18m-plus. Chelsea are eyeing Liverpool's Fernando Torres and will not give up on him if Drogba leaves.

I would take Drogba for a couple of seasons. Prem proven and scores bags of goals. Can't stand his attitude and diving but he scores in big games and knows what it's all about.

According to a statement from the club we have no interest in Drogba whatsoever. Add the fact that the story is in the Sun and I think we can afely deduce its bollox.

Progress in Italy

Postby john@staustell » Tue Jul 20, 2010 7:42 am

Being unable to translate from Italian I have to rely on Babelfish - so dont shoot the messenger!! But there are 3 current City articles on Tuttumercatoweb. The first, from around midnight last night, says Kolarov is done and just awaiting 1 of the 2 clubs to announce it. The second, this morning (Weds) is an editorial saying what a maniac Moratti is letting one of Italy's best talents go. The 3rd says that Mino Raiola is flying to Manchester tomorrow (Thurs) to be convinced by City, which would tie in with his attributed quote that the deal will be done later in the week.

First

Telenovela - the Kolarov is in order to turn to the term. The terzino Serbian it is to a step from the Manchester City: in the today's evening the emissaries of the Citizens, present in Italy, must have found l' agreement with the Lazio. It is spoken about a figure near 18 million euro, more relative prizes legacies to the result obtained from the square guided from Roberto Mancini. It is vocifera, moreover, than the medical visit that the mancino would have had to support quest' today (then moved tomorrow, ndr) or be definitively cancelled: now it lacks only l' officer corps from the two fine clubs in order definitively to put the word to a debilitating vicissitude. Lotito and Tare are always to the job in order to find of the substitute: always warm the names of Fabio Santos of the Gremio and Luca Antonelli of the Parma. The next days could be those decisive ones

Second

The probable transfer of Balotelli to the Manchester City, is making to discuss not only the tifosi dell' Inter, but l' entire soccer Italy. Many find that Moratti you deprive yourself of one of the best ones produced of the last years of the Italian juvenile field, own inexplicable while the national blue, after the clamorous one tonfo of the World-wide ones, is to the deprived of hope search of young talents on which heading in order rifondare and to throw again Italian soccer. Unfortunately, but, often we forget that modern soccer, with the exception of that one of twenty years ago, is not healthier parochialism, is not more color, folklore and attachment to the mesh and, naturally, not even patriotico spirit and nationalism. Today, in a panorama dominated from the marketing, from the television rights, and the sponsors, with the soccers player transformed from flags of the clubs in companies with miliardario turnover, governed from cynical and sometimes pitiless agents or figureheads of eager personages of family, not c' it is more space for the sentimentalismo, we figure ourselves for the nationalism. With l' experience that I have matured in many years of soccer, before writing task, then I at the end reflect and free with emergency the pen and assert: I am from the part of Moratti. How much feeling, used the president nerazzurro, some year makes, in the management of other a unparalleled and problematic juvenile talent, arrived, nearly for case, nell' Vampeta transaction, that it answered to the name of Adrian. For l' Emperor, refused offered stratospheric, when he was little more than ventenne, with the single consequence of a series of renews and contractual increases till the attainment of I engage decupled in the centuries of the centuries. Result? A lost talent, little gratefulness, in field and outside, let alone it happens reduced them to parameter zero. The Balotelli story seems the summery retort of telenovela the Adrian. Same immense talent, same debatable habits of life, same whims and a manager that it only works for its transfer. To mistake is human, but to perseverare is diabolic, therefore, Moratti does good to embed all those million the Manchester City and to rinvestire the proceeds on champions who will have more to heart than Mario the mesh dell' Inter will upgrade and it really and not only virtually and perspectively

Third

According to how much Sport is learned to Sky tomorrow could be to us an encounter between the proxy of Mario Balotelli and the Manchester City, still more decided to tear the talent nerazzurro. Mino Raiola will fly directly to Manchester where it will meet the leadership of the Citizens. For l' forward dell' Inter is always spoken about 35 million euro but the sheiks want directly to interact and to convince Raiola and the player, in order then to act on the society nerazzurra

Their director of communications Vicky Kloss told The Times: "We can categorically state we have no interest in signing Didier Drogba and any suggestion of an approach is entirely without foundation."

Thanks John - good detective work sir. Pesonally I wouldn't think any deal is firmly in place with ANY italian club until the players signature is formly on a contract as most of their dealing is political posturing for the sake of their home fans - any transfer conducted with the likes of Inter/Lazio et seems like a bloody saga

But then we have been to Italy. We are negotiating with Inter and Raiola. Kolarov is done. So you could say these are facts.

Just as Yaya Touré and Silva were well-signposted, and deserved their own threads way before mcfc announced. The ongoing negotiations were way beyond rumour. As they were with Kaká, and Eto'o, who had their own threads even though these didn't happen. Drogba is a rumour, the Balotelli negotiations are fact.

But I do understand your reasoning!!

Have I missed something???? How are any of these "facts". How many times have we supposedly been somewhere and some deal is done. It wasn't long ago that we were definitely in Valencia and the deal was all done. Can't see him on City shirt though.

None of these deals are really done until the player is holding City shirt in official site. Despite what everreliable (Italian) tabloids will tell you.

And I DID merge ten Kaka topics, 19 Eto'o topics, 23 Silva and 146 Toure topics with these. None of these deals were done at the time. Some of them were eventually done, others never happened. Because they are rumours. Some are true some aren't.

If this doesn't match with key words "Rumours" and "transfer" then I don't know what does.

The middle one seems to mean we're ruining football (in Italian).

I have no idea what "nell' Vampeta transaction" means but it sure as hell sounds like something negative. I believe that when you pay a hitman to do your ex-wife, you are performing "nell' Vampeta transaction".
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

A 'Vampeta' sounds more like a bird you meet late on a Friday night, not someone you'd marry!
