The CIES Football Observatory is a research group within the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), which is an independent study centre located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Created in 2005 by Dr. Raffaele Poli and Dr. Loïc Ravenel, the CIES Football Observatory currently comprises a staff of four full-time permanent researchers who specialise in the statistical analysis of football.

The putrefaction of football is complete with this lamentable list. Who are these fab four permanent researchers - do you know zuricity?

He cost so much he MUST be good, right? right? right? Forget the turgid performances week in week out, forget being embarassed by Burnley's midfield to the point that he lost his temper, he cost so freaking much that he MUST be good. Let's give him an award.

German newspaper Stuttgarter-Zeitung reported that kimmich is unhappy and is likely to leave for Leipzig or City. Bayern have responded by saying it's a monstrous lie and in a statement said they are taking legal action against them.

Now that's how you handle press. Well done Bayern.

Created in 1995 as a joint venture with FIFA - from their own website. I think that probably puts this 'independent statistical analysis' in perspective.

Apparently this is the team, taken from their contacts page http://www.cies.ch/en/cies/contact/ (by the way, directly underneath it is someone with the job title of 'FIFA Master')

Poor Poor Tarquins
Why you won't be able to watch Arsenal's attempt to finish in top four on Sky this Sunday

Arsenal's clash with Everton will not be shown live on Sky on Sunday

Ben Rumsby
18 MAY 2017

Arsenal’s crucial final Premier League match of the season against Everton on Sunday is not being shown by Sky Sports because it has used up all its 126 live fixtures this season.

Sky left itself just two games to choose from on Sunday after making a late decision to broadcast the Gunners’ win over Sunderland on Tuesday night, one of 11 matches it will have aired in the past week.

Showing so many games before the final day has arguably backfired after Chelsea clinched the title at West Bromwich Albion on Friday night and Manchester United were ruled out of the race for Champions League football ahead of their bore draw at Southampton on Wednesday.

Following Manchester City’s victory over West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night, Sky elected to air theirs and Liverpool’s final games of the season, with those teams in pole position to finish in the top four.

That denied Arsenal fans the chance to see if they could upset the odds and qualify for the Champions League for the 20th consecutive year.

The decision to show Liverpool v Middlesbrough and Watford v City ahead of Arsenal v Everton was condemned by Gunners supporters on social media.
BT Sport has also run out of matches, having shown the last of its 42 games – Swansea City v Everton – almost two weeks ago.

Sky has almost invariably had the final day of the season to itself and has previously held back enough live fixtures to show three games simultaneously on more than one occasion.

However, its primary goal is broadcasting the moment the title is won and it is no surprise it picked virtually all of Chelsea’s and Spurs’ matches from early April onward.

i don't think they're trying to imply anything (this time) - the RAGs have a game tomorrow so it's why they get mentioned so prominently - they quote Vinnie too. I think they're trying to give a feeling of a City united (sorry for the play on words).
