According to Wolfsburg we didn't make a first bid. The Mirror know no more than we do.

If they're wanting £50+ million I'd rather just add £20-30 million more and buy Bale. It's getting stupid now

A senior City source has denied making a 50 million bid. The Star say Wolfsburg have named their price to City- and its 50 million, pounds that is.

I'm not doubting that the Mirror are reporting this. It's a big headline for the Sunday paper but it does not mean there is any truth in it. I read the whole article and it has a very negative undertone towards us.

I'm in this camp as well. Or have Pogba as the main target and pay up for him. Although KDB is good, is he that good....to be paying triple what Wolfsburg paid 18 months ago?

In this camp also, but I don't ever see the German league so I'll be happily be told I'm wrong.

Well i guess he won't be coming on in the second half today to assist or score the winner.

The thread titles should be changed to "Bookies slash 'wrists'". Since everyone seems to have got this one wrong.

I really think that this fella is already ahead of Bale - and if he comes to us will push ahead of Hazard over the next couple of years

City Watch has some very encouraging quotes at last from Aloffs. I was' brisk' in saying he was 99 per cent likely to stay. If a player gets offered much more money we have to respect that. I also said we couldn't keep him till the end of his contract in 2019. Even 'we're not at the same level as Real Madrid Bayern or Manchester City.' Looks like he's preparing the fans for his departure as long as he doesn't get seriously injured today. I seriously doubt another Club is going to offer 50 million pounds for him so it looks like this is drawing to a successful close.

Yeah i'm about to switch to the game since the Arse should at least be three up. Hoping that by not watching, Palace will do something . Good , well taken goal by Giroud though.

Alloffs says he expects a new offer from City in the next few days. Sounds like Wolfsburg have named their price and we've agreed to pay it or thereabouts. Endgame surely. Otamendi and de Bruyne. What a statement!

Like many have already said on here. He's not worth the asking price. We don't need him and if we're willing to spend that kind of money might as well sign Isco, Bale or Pogba. I feel like we're chasing a white rabbit that not worth the original asking price, let alone they are making city pay now.

Bild say Wolfsburg are to offer de Bruyne a 135,000 pounds per week new contract to try to persuade him to stay. And so it goes on!

My work avoiding thoughts...... In light of the dismantling of Chelsea I think Txiki should have been on the phone to his agent this morning with the message you either want to join us and you tell Wolfsburg you want out or you don't and we walk away! Chances are Wolfsburg won't win anything of significance in the near future and we look pretty tasty so make your choice Kevin. We should certainly be above being pissed about like this. I'll happily take Pedro for half the price instead.

Still confidant that it will be wrapped up soon enough, looks like the penny has dropped in wolfsburg.
