We can't keep blaming Kev for Bernardo not doing it. He was shit for Portugal in the Euros, kept dribbling down the right and then passing backwards. Did it constantly.
Grealish looks to me like he'd thrive on the pressure. He was a big fish in a small pond at Villa and when he was out near the end of the season they went to pieces but also he's played well every time he's played for England. When the whole crowd was going mad for him to come on the other night he came on and produced.
Instantly changed the game. He'd be great for us.

I agree with that. I love Bern, but he’s developed in to an inconsistent player and it’s frustrating. Towards the end of the 18/19 season he was unbelievable. Since then, for whatever reasons, he’s not hit those heights.

Cannir argue with either post. Grealish made a difference onTuesday and would / could only ger better under Pep. I think it will likely be at Bernie's expense if we get zgrealish. On the plus side, Mendy may well fuck off.....every cloud

Unfortunately I think the Mendy/Twitter issue effected Bern. Mendy is fuckin us over even when he’s not.

Yes quite possibly. Sad for Bernie as he seems a likeable guy but he hasn't found a way to adapt his game when Kev is playing and that in turn leads to poor performance. I do wonder what it would have been like for Mendy had he not suffered the injuries, he was no.1 choice for that position in the world for us. Seeing the way he acts, daresay it would not have changed him through

I'd prefer to keep him but if it's a choice between Silva and Grealish then I'd take Grealish every time.
And if we're comparing Bernardo to Kev then Premier League Stats are Games Kev 180, Bernardo 131, goals Kev 42, Bernardo 21, assists Kev 78, Bernardo 24.
On the international stage Kev is the main man and Bernardo has been substituted every time.
As Mase said Bernardo was superb in 18/19 but he's been very inconsistent since and whether that was down to the tweet or whatever he's a totally different player.

Grealish is never going to put in the work rate that Bernardo does.

This year he was also back at his best until march or so. The Villa winner or Everton away were crucial in our run. He looked he clicked with Gundo, then Kevin came back and Bernie was left out again.
I think our system might not suit him, he is played out of position, but here is a problem, because no one knows what his actual position is.

He needs to stay because he proved he is quality and because of his age. I would get rid of Gundo and the algerian prince because I think they reached the peak this season.

btw, what is our average age squad? Does anyone know?

Not sure what that is based on seeing as he has carried villa for a couple of seasons now?

He wasn't back at his best this season. He played nearly 30 PL games, scored 2 and 6 assists. The Everton game you mentioned is the only one i can think of where he was outstanding and that game he linked superbly with Mahrez. He runs his bollocks off so he gets a free ride on here whereas Kev will get slaughtered for 1 bad game.

Work off the ball, I mean. That doesn't get you the glory this drink-driver seems to crave.

I dont want him to come if it means losing Bernardo, but I do think he'd fit into our team and offer us quite a lot. I've kind of changed my mind on him recently (his performance off the bench in England's last game swung it for me).
Walker has probably posted worse things about us on social media before joining, and done just as bad things away from football and we all accept him.

Simply not good enough and there's probably a lad or two in the year below him with better potential whose progress might be halted.
You cant keep them all. I guess we must make judgement calls on who and when to release and we will regret a few, but that's the nature of the beast

Yeah I get that, but there’s been tons that aren’t good enough but we’ve managed to get a few quid for them. Seems weird we’ve not done it with him earlier - unless we thought he was going to make it but he’s just not developed.

One can only hope we have also received decent loan fees in the last three years and we have a hefty sell on clause because £11M as a standalone fee is very low indeed
