Beeb's interviewer an embarrassment there, dealing with a foreigner. Ask Q first time, Roberto does not understand, ask Q second time but loader, Roberto does not understand, so? Ask it again louder and faster.

Me too, I was really hoping he would stick around, I would be really interested to what Manchini could do with him. Manchini has only been around a few weeks nd for a lot of them Robinho was injured, so I would be pretty surprised if he was to go on loan.

I didn't think much of the interviewer either but Mancini knew exactly what the question was and just didnt want to answer it so he he pressed a couple of times until he did. Standard practice isn't it to do that.

Honestly mate you are wide of the mark IMO on that, he thought the question was about subbing Robbie. This crap that Mancini is somehow fluent and is just cracking daft is nonsense, yes he is very good but he will still be getting the hang of the less formal aspects and the reporters insist on using exactly the same sort of language that they'd use with locals. I don't know if you've ever dealt with non UK English speakers in your working life but there is a huge difference between what they learn in lessons and the way any of us actually speak, if they have gone to the trouble of learning our language the least we can do is think about how we frame questions to ensure that they understand them. I had a Malaysian guy working for me last year and whilst he speaks very good English (better than Mancini) and has done for many years I can still easily find that I have completely lost him if I forget that it isn't his first language.

Watch the clip again, you will clearly see the look of recognition registering on Mancini's face when his interpreter explains the misunderstanding.

Have done and we will agree to disagree on that one. As I said I think he knew the question well and didn't want to have to answer it imo. I thought he might have a problem on the training pitch getting his message across and taking in the comments thrown at him but from what I have seen and heard he doesnt have a problem. He's a clever bloke with the press/tv.
