Kompany was very good - when you see the highlights of CITY's best chances - if you can call them that - I think that you will see they were almost all involving Ya Ya - he will be absolutely immense!!!!

draw away to a direct rival, good result, very very glad we made a go of it in the 2nd half, because if it had been a repeat of the first half, we'd have been fucking lucky.
Bring on a week of full training and Boateng, should be ok Vs Liverpool a week on monday.

That's 1 point gained for us and 2 points dropped for them. Gotta be happy with that!

Yes that was probably the plan but SWP offered no threat all afternoon unfortunately carrying on his poor form from last season.

this match last season cost a manager his job. Stark improvement.
Better second half. I was a bit suprised Sweep was taken off instead of Silva considering his preseason.
Great backs to the wall defending. Good result.
Spot on Dazby very good point for us I think though as well as YaYa Silva is also going to be great this year

Particularly impressive, given my expectations, was Kolo Toure's performance, and bro. Ya Ya looks as if he will settle into a very commanding midfielder for us.
Obviously, with a settled back four as Spurs have, Tevez and Silva couldn't be expected to gell, offensively, so quickly, not least because of their still having to shake off the post World Cup cobwebs.
Silva is obviously somewhat lightweight, but so far he hasn't looked as if he'll be fazed by the physical EPL defenders.
I thought Nigel De Jong was our most impressive outfield performer today: his anticipation, decision-making, and even quality of his tackling was well-nigh faultless
His partnership with Ya Ya could well develop into the Premier League's finest this season.
SWP's poor miss could affect his start prospects in the next few weeks; Johnson showed far more in the shorter time he was on the field.
Micah Richards showed good invention going forward, but he was far too often our weakest player defensively.
Hopefully Boateng will be available to start soon, as Richards could end up costing us points that could prove an insurmountable obstacle at the business end of the season.
Nicely balanced and hard to disagree with any of it.
Would point out that while de Jong was again a monster in the midfield, it is these sorts of games that he excels in, when we are playing Watford at home, de Jong becomes a passenger who's shortcomings become very evident.
Also a little upset at the balance of the midfield, hard to see what we were trying for most of the time, was it a 4-3-3 or a 4-5-1 or with Barry playing left maybe a 4-4-2 that lacked shape.

I was particularly watching out for Nige's passing and although it might be premature to judge on the basis of one game, but I think the quality of his passing has improved over last season.
And he looks to be more confident about the passes he attempted.
Already, though, I get the sense that Ya Ya-Nige will be a partnership that could prove the difference for us.
And as Ya Ya sees how well Nige is 'looking after the shop', he can dominate in a more offensive manner

I have no idea why we was playing Barry left wing.

Fear of the shaven eye-brows guy perhaps? And to protect the noob playing at left back.

I suspect Barry will lose out when Milner arrives, so he's being marginalised.
Hopefully he won't throw his rattle out of the pram like Shay if thats the case.

Very happy with a point but we need to make a lot of improvements quickly. I actually thought Barry did ok & CB's plus DeJong were excellent. Very encouraging. Hart was fantastic. Imo Kolarov was keeping Lennon at bay but looked like he was carrying the injury from early on. Yaya ok but was fucked with 20 mins to go. Richards struggled badly but got no help, I recon Boateng was forunate to be injured as he would have got raped. SWP absolutely fucking awful; Last Chancxe Saloon. Milner could have done that job 10 times better. Attack in general useless in every way.
We had a bit of raggish good fortune today but deserved it & they would have been praised for their defending, but the big difference is; their reserve team attack is better than ours was today. We have great attacking players but they were nowhere near it in fitness, speed of thought or attitude. Nobody was especially trying to get in the box just in case we did get a pass in, which we didn't of course. We need to become a lot more threatening very quickly, as we won't get away with it defensively every week.
We were obviously missing a certain Welsh bloke up front badly today , but fuck it, perhaps the new players + Tevez will soon be as fit, sharp & raring to go as he is right now & we'll get away with the stupid fucking unneccessary gamble of not using him.
If SWP is, or will be, better in any way than Bellamy, I'm the Pope.

Totally agree with this. I hope Bobby knows what he's doing.
SWP should have buried that chance.
