3) Was the Gündogan tribute over the top?
As the City players strolled out for the start each wore the shirt of Ilkay Gündogan, which features his name and number, back-to-front. This was to send best wishes to the midfielder who will miss the remainder of the campaign because of cruciate knee ligament damage sustained in the win against Watford. How City – or any side – wish to show solidarity with an injured colleague is their choice, of course, but it did jar a little. Especially given that players, unfortunately, are continually struck down and have to come back from the maladies which are part of the hazards of being a professional footballer. Was this over the top? The reaction on social media, particularly Twitter, suggested so, though this is hardly an arena of calm and considered opinion.

Why? The lads obviously wanted to show how they felt for their team mate. If anything it shows what they think of him as a person, you fucked up fuck!

He can still do a job. Just not against decent opposition and not against a pacy forward line.

I think he can't handle these big teams anymore. He can still play against the other small teams and maybe in some cup games like capital cup but he cannot be used the way we need him to be used so he has to be replaced unfortunately and that's just the ugly truth.

Souness was on message, as per the hosts script, whereas Neville and Henry seen it from a footballing pov and understood that these calls are given week in/week out. Due to the speed of the game. None of them were wrong but when Sky have to quote the rules of the game to get their point across, there can only be one reason.

Zaba should have been retired to our Academy, not left to scramble about looking for a part-time wage.

We all want the best for players like Pablo, why can't the club?

Watched it on NBCSN. They are so much fairer than any of the English stations.
They all agreed they were two perfectly good goals.
Even Lee Dixon and Graham le Saux agreed and said we thoroughly deserved the win.

It seemed somewhat subdued in the first half but Blues really seemed to pick up the second.

Interesting that in the second, Arse had a bit of an uproar and the mic's were flicked up to show their support. Literally, it went from quiet to loud, as if turning the sound on your computer. The problem was that it was City fans singing, taking the piss!

Such support.

Thought the fans were shocking TBH. Kept thinking the sound on my telly was playing up. Terrible effort.

The atmosphere was great today. Loads of passion and noise. Get your telly changed!

No, it was definitely terrible. No effort at all. Very poor, and lots of empty seats. Awful.

So let me get this right. You are sat at home complaining that the fans who have bothered to go to the game haven't put any effort in and from your armchair at home you are complaining that there are empty seats at the ground?? Unreal.
I went, the atmosphere was fantastic.

Difficult, I know, but I thought you were shit in the first half. So Gary Neville tells me ;-)

Actually, no I wouldn't, when they did it for Suarez they were rightfully slated and due to their constant grief chasing it's only right. This is the first time I've seen this from our club and seemed to represent a feeling from the players, a togetherness (fucking hate that btw) that wanted to show.
