Just back from the game, and all I can say was we were something special today. Beating a very good Chavs side comfortably after giving them a goal start is some achievement.
Everyone gave 100%, and no-one had a bad game, apart from the howler for their goal, Khusanov was good for the rest of the game, despite being chucked in at the deep end.
And Nunes, who a few games back I said I'd never want to see him in a City shirt again had a really good game.
Loads of positives to take from this game, and not really any negatives.

Cheers for that PB, always nice to get a balanced post match review, especially from someone who went to the game.

I was at the game and while I agree that Bernardo and Gundo were much improved and I agreed with Gvardiol getting MOTM in my opinion and everyone around me it was between him and Kovacic.
Much better team performance today, pleasure to watch

There is a lot about this season I don't like but I won't get vexed about it, it's bad for your health.

100% irrelevant here CFTG, that said i am fairly sure I am not alone, go figure. Perhaps running is better for you than power walking, it helps run off the aggression.

Completely relevant if you’re going to lecture people on ‘hate’!

FYI - I have a wonderful life that has no room for aggression in it , but there is still plenty of space for sarcasm !! - sadly , lots of that sarcasm is wasted on half wits.

Give up Zuri, it doesn't matter in what context you, sheblue and others type it in the witch hunters have the stake ready to burn Nunes.

I am NOT saying he was MOTM material but by his recent performances/standards he had a good game for him.

Yes he is being played out of position AGAIN today, but he didn't fuck up to levels of other recent games costing us the game. So yes it can be said he had a good game today.

Unfortunately some people just pure hate for the guy.

Someone mentioned about him being gone in the summer, reality is that we won't be allowed to make wholesale changes come July because of shitty PSR, there are other players needed first to replace Gundo, Bernardo, Stones just of the top of my head.

Just late the haters hate, because they just start attacking you because you're not a hater. Leave them to their angry lives.

A lot of waffle that. People are allowed to comment on what is happening during a match - in a match thread. Saying “Nunes misplaced a pass” or “Nunes beaten again” or even “I don’t afree Nunes was ‘very good’ annd here’s why…” isn’t hate. It’s commenting on the game. You do it often yourself.

But according to Zuri can you not make a post like that again please, people don’t have to answer to you.

If you are spending your time time during the game posting on lots of events, or finding and posting pictures of bad haircuts , you aren't watching the game.

It is interesting to hear the take on things of those who actually were at the game, after the game is played. They see the entire movement of the team during the game and not just what Sky decide to show us. For example, one thought Kovacic had a great game, whereas on the camera he seemed to lose possession in critical places a couple of times , other midfield tasks he does , like shutting players down , or closing the gaps in the "Channels" ( Sky speak) aren't seen on tv. It's what the guys see in the Stadium that helps in review afterwards.

In the match thread , players are being called out sometimes within minutes of the start as being rubbish.

However, I was disappointed that Akanji didn't do more to protect Abdu at the start. That seems to be a weakness in Akanji's play - he is after all a mature and experienced player at the top level, he should know better , the guy was probably a bit nervous.

On the positive side Nunes' attacking play was good both yesterday and against PSG ( where his run foward lead to a goal, like yesterday). Somehow these positives are ignored because , for example his wayward throw-in , led to the lump up the pitch that seemed harmless enough until the header back to big Ed. therefore Nunes must be crap.

Btw, Phil showed Palmer how to finish one on ones.

Did not see that coming. A mad game. Great atmosphere. Lots of positives. I’ve not seen Gary I hate CIty, I won’t be either, my lad tells me he never disappoints. I guess he thought hoped we would lose.

Don't want to sugar it, but Nunes and Akanji are almost as same as guilty as Abdu. The first one takes a pathetic throw in to the opponents, then, the second one, had no business being there.

And a few minutes later, when they almost made it 2-0, he saved our arse.

Because someone is at the game doesn’t make their opinion fact or anymore relevant than someone that isn’t.

I’d argue the person at home is getting more of an allround picture because they get to see replays that p fans at the game don’t.

I honestly can’t take you seriously anymore of your recent posts. I think you and Hants looks at the poster rather than the post to be honest.

Also great to see Foden back to his best. 7 goals in 7 games the commentator said. Maybe he was just taking his time coming back from injury. Great to see anyway - although not sure I’m allowed to post this as I wasn’t at the game.

As long as you don't criticise Nunes, blame Lewis for all our defensive frailities and you'll be off the 'Haters" list.

Commentators didn’t give Haaland any credit whatsoever for our second. Great little header to nudge it forward and then sat the Chelsea defender down. Neville wanted to go on about how crap their keeper was but there was still a lot to do from outside of the box for Erling.

All the media are comparing Khusanov's debut with Evra's all those years ago.
It's made me nostalgic.

Guy Mowbray said something like maybe after a few years we will look back at this moment and laugh, or something like that, implying the kid will come good.
Liked it, sounded class.

Disliked Shearer who had zero words and moved quickly to Omar. He is a fucking kid, show some fucking support.
