There is truth in that. Leaving aside the fact I don't rate him as a manager I can't stand the fellow to be honest. How much my disliking Hughes colours my judgement on his abilities is open to debate, although the fact that last night he equalled his highest point in any competition in 10 years of management is more to the point. Even Fat Sam managed that last night from his sick bed :)

and he did it with all hughes signings ;-)

Yup this is his fourth semi final in 5 years.
2 FA Cup, 2 League Cup
His Blackburn paupers were KO'd by Scum and Chelsea at this stage in the FA cup and by Scum in the League Cup.
Not bad for a small town in Bolton.
In fact since Hughsie started club management, he is the only manager who has taken sides other than Arse and Scum into 2 League Cup semis

Hughes needs support like anyone, looking ahead at Saturday Anelka, who did not give a toss about City for 6 months when he walked around Coms picking up his money for doing fucking nothing but sulk, will get more support than our Manager ! how is that possible.Hughes in.

And anyone that watched the Chelsea v Blackburn semi final at Old Trafford, Blackburn absolutely battered Chelsea that day. 3 semi finals for a small time club like Blackburn is punching massively above their weight.

Hughes in or out? I don't know what our board should decide to do but I was a little angry after the 3rd gol.
Why? How many points should City have in Premier replacing SWP in the last fifteen/twenty minutes with new Wonderboy Vladi? What's your opinion, mates?

As I've said on a few occasions previously, there's no reason why Vlad The Impaler and SWP can't play in the same side mate. Tueart and Barnes used to swap wings for fun and the opposition were fucled all the time.

OK, cards on the table time. I still don't rate Hughes and ultimately, I don't think he will bring the success we are looking for. I've even said the same sometime in the last 14 pages.

However, it would be stupid to sack him now, with that semi-final looming. Unless we get murdered in the home leg, that gives him till at least the 19th January, by which point it's too late to sack him during the season. The only thing I can see changing that is losing every game between now and the semi, which won't happen.

So, I don't think Hughes is the right man for the job or even a particularly talented coach/manager, but he's here for the rest of the season. Whilst I may therefore complain about his tactics, decisions, substitutions, negativity etc, etc I'm going to leave off asking for him to be sacked. I suspect I'll be back on it by summer, but until then...

Got to say I liked him annoying Whinger last night and especially the wave down the tunnel. Maybe I'm warming to him.

ok you can understand why people aren't sure about hughes, and why people don't want him to go (stability factor) but can we all agree that the little wave down the tunnel to wenger was genius? i loved it!

Got to watch the game again last night (Sky+) and a real class moment happened at the end of his post-match interview. The commentator asked if Hughes was going to speak to Whinger about the incident which he replied, 'He's over there', pointing to his left. The commentator then said 'Go Get Him!', to which Hughes bee-lined out of camera shot as if he was going to lamp him. I could just imagine him finger-poking Whingers chest and when Whinger came on, he looked like he'd been crying with those big red puppy eyes.

All-in-all, I thought it was a class act from Hughes.

Absolutely, the incident involving the ball was such a nothing moment and to refuse to shake hands because of it was childish and unprofessional. Personally I LOVE the fact he acted that way, I hate the french fuck and the plaudits he gets for ripping off youth academies and calling them his own creations, after this there will be enough shit flung at him from the papers that we can just sit back and enjoy.
