Yup this is his fourth semi final in 5 years.
2 FA Cup, 2 League Cup
His Blackburn paupers were KO'd by Scum and Chelsea at this stage in the FA cup and by Scum in the League Cup.
Not bad for a small town in Bolton.
In fact since Hughsie started club management, he is the only manager who has taken sides other than Arse and Scum into 2 League Cup semis

I really like Hughes' passionate style and believe the best way to go about it is to have a manager that will be here from the beginning and remain with City for the next 15 years through all the glory. That being said, I would feel a little more comfortable with a top name spending our wealth instead of an unproven one.

we need to keep hold of hughes, pretty much everyplayer in our team has been brought in in tha last 2/3 seasons and most of the starting 11 just THIS season so the silly mistakes are bound to happen but given a season playing together will stop.

BUUUT bring in a new manager and he brings in some new players that he wants and we've got another season of a team having to figure each other out

its not like TAGGART won everything in his first season is it, but now they dominate the PL with an average team because he was given time. GIVE HUGHES F***ING TIME rather then throwing everything in the air straight up because id rather wait another season and then win everything for the next 15 years then win the PL this year then fuck all else since like erm...chelsea

well 11 PL titles obviously the team hasnt been average all the way through but look at there team this season and tell me youd expect them to be second 2 points behind chelsea, when you compare the two your like WTF. like if you were in the tunnel against the PL champions and you look to your side and see fletcher you wouldnt start laughing

BUT back to my point about giving hughes time, look at how much better the defence is playing even richards is kinda starting to look like a defender and our midfield has dominated teams recently to the point i think the "big tackle" should be sponsered by de jong

The game yesterday was quality. City had that rare combination - talent and hard work. Hughes has got his strenghts. And he seems to have built a winning mentality. We have come back against rags, scousers and Chelsea. Say what you want but statistically not many teams do that. Add two victories against Arsenal and that we, hopefully, have had our barren spell with all the draws, and we are doing very well.

At risk of going over old ground, taggart had proved he could do it with an unfashionable Scottish team, including in Europe. Hughes hasn't won anything yet. One day we might look back and be grateful they didn't sack Hughes, otherwise we'd have never got our 7th Champions League trophy in a row. However, if we'd given Frank Clark years, do you think he'd have managed to win a game yet?

Whole thing is a mute point till summer now anyway, as he'd have to get us into the relegation zone now for him to be sacked during the season.

He has been below par in a few games granted - a lot of that has to do with the service and the players around him finding space while he holds the ball up... but one or two were saying he is an "expensive Vassell". Could you insult the player more than that?!

Even when he hasn't been playing great I've seen him do things with the ball that Vassell and Dickov could only dream of. He is an immense player and world class if the team around him use him properly.
