I feared for the worst today, before the game and it turned out that way.

In spite of that, I'm too dispirited and depressed to post anything constructive, so I won't bother.

Oh and we need another forward.

Everyone has been saying for years "pep couldnt do it in a proper league" and when he has come in and we have looked class it's just got worse. It's like all of English football has a fucking point to prove and everyone will celebrate this. Everyone wants us and pep to fail. But we won't. They can all fuck right off. We will win the league and a cup this year minimum and just get better and better with every transfer window.

Fuck every cunt who isn't on board.

Indeed. Interestingly, the commentators were desperately trying to convey that Bravo was having an uncomfortable time with the ball, when in reality he was pretty much the only player who looked comfortable while passing. His penalty save was nice as well. Improving by the game.

These are literally our only league victories against decent opposition in the last 15 months.

I think we'll all feel better once we put together a couple results against legitimate title contenders. We've just been nothing but flat track bullies for a while now.

I think it's difficult to compare to last season other than we looked similar today.

We very much missed KDB and Nolito who have been instrumental to our success this season. I'd have fancied a better result if we had them in the team compared to Navas and Fernando who will surely not be with us much longer. They just aren't up to our standards.

Lack of pace and quality in general now at the full back is also a concern.

Maffeo perhaps might get a spin if Zaba keeps this up. Love to get Bellerin but I think he's off to Barca. Pep went to watch some full back recently during the last international break we are interested in. I can't remember his name.

At left back, I wonder if we are interested in Ricardo Rodriguez at Wolfsburg (impressed me at the Euros). He's excellent with the ball and a somewhat younger, better version of Kolarov. Rumours Arsenal wanted him this summer, but he'd certainly be an upgrade.

I hope Pep learnt a lot from playing that team against what he should have known would be a quality Spurs team. And I hope he played that team in the positions they played in order to deliberately test them to see whether they could cut it against the best teams. I hope because I'd hate to think he thought they could compete.

Hey, a full strength Real only drew with Eibar and a full strength Barca (minus Messi) is getting smashed by Celta Vigo. It happens.
And, both Real and Barca are better than us while Eibar and Celta are worse than Spurs.

a left-foot dominant winger who plays left back and whose only real strength is attacking & set pieces (and pens)? we have Aleks already.

Good call SG.

Very hard to admit we absolutely deserve this defeat vs spuds! As for the Celtic game we fail to control the match from the beginning of both halfs. Perhaps players need to relax a little bit and Pep too! We're still top of the League and we'll fight til the end, this is my point of view! #CTWD

To me a draw would have been ok. Again we gifted two goals and we simply can't expect to be pulled out of the mess each time.

We simply cannot risk Kolarov at the back he does all the wrong things . That own goal was simply unbelievable from a so-called professional. He had no need to touch the ball.

btw 4 away games on the trot is always hard.

I think there were a number of issues including us being so early in our programme of change, us missing a few key players and general tiredness adversely affecting application in those lacking the discipline to keep their work rate up despite how bad it hurts.
The international break should help and I fully expect us to go on a good run thereafter (though I have low expectation v Barca this season).
One thing that shone out was that Aguero really isn't working as well as he ought to be off the ball - if he doesn't alter his attitude I can see him being sold and replaced by a proper worker / Suarez / Tevez type player who will run his socks off. Not to say that Aguero isn't an incredibly gifted player, more the case that he is an unaffordable luxury if he doesn't put the effort in for every minute of every game. As example; KDB is already much more valuable to the team than Aguero is because KDB works hard all game and that shows when we don't have him.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

I'd like Bravo to take more one touch passes. It's the first touch that's inviting so much pressure.

I think that's the point though mate. Let them put pressure on the keeper and defenders and it creates a pocket of space behind them where Fern 1 is supposed to be because they're pushed up so high.

It was that yesterday people couldn't be arsed showing for the ball and giving their team mate and option.

The game was closer than many make out. Spurs extra fitness from one extra days rest tipped the balance. Despite poor performances from the two full backs, Otter and the two Ferns(he who shall be worshipped was particularly poor but that was probably someone else's fault) we should and could have drawn . They didn't make as many clear chances as us, and how the fuck could neither Silver or Aguero put Navas' cross in early doors. We need a proper tough tackling midfielder. But in the meantime, Sagna, Nolito and Kevin will restore normal service. We have a manager who knows what to do and will do it and problems will be addressed when the time comes. No worries for me.
