it's a tough one..
I don't think they'll get an easier ride next season, teams will start to suss them out and set up accordingly. I'm pretty sure they would've been more exhausted had they been challenging for title at this stage. I think we've taken the foot off the gas and feel complacency set in since the day the players started to believe the tiltle is in the bag, obviously team selections didn't help.

They'll push us close next season make no mistake, we need to prioritise league and chimps league and play our youth in domestic cups. Anymore piss poor selections like yesterday and it's goodnight.

Yesterday was not a piss poor selection if people would take the time to consider the big picture. Namely, CL final prep, injury risk due to tiredness from semi finals, yesterday's match was a dead rubber as PL title is a done deal, number of games played this season, etc... And the most obvious one being the team selection was not why we lost, we lost because Kun fucked up, Taylor did not give a nailed on penalty and Sterling missed two 1 on 1s.

Re Chelsea and next season. They have a deep squad and a very good manager. There weak point will be that very good manager - he is a strange fish and things could go sour with the players, sort of like Jose M. He also burns players out over three seasons, like Klopp does.

As you rightly say they will be sussed out - 8 defensive players is an unsustainable formation in the PL if they want to win it.

There is a Big chance Tuchel could end up with nothing this season, no one seems to peddle that narrative lol.
I'd rather have Pep leading us in a final, despites he's flaws, he's a winner, been there and done it

These are our biggest challengers for next season. They are a couple of upgrades away from being a very good side

CALM DOWN!

Ok we are all on edge including me , so let’s get the elephants out of the room now!!
1) Peps team selection was not what we all hoped for! 9 changes are to many and all of our squad is not as good on their own 3/4 changes 5 at most. With main players working with them. Fully understand why he did this giving everyone valuable game time. But as with last years euro quarter ther ex are some games that you should not tinker with . Even if you are Pep!!! That said he is still the best manager on the Planet!! By a country mile.
2)Sergio for whatever reason took a penalty like never before , totally his fault for that. So are we going to turn on the greatest goal scorer this club has ever had ??
Or are we going to take 1 & 2 points and say oh well , let’s get on with finishing this at Newcastle , then rest players at Brighton and v Everton and play the proper City team at the Final ( wherever that may be)? Plus put Sergio in either from start or as a sub!!?? C’mon Blues we are better than all this in fighting and bickering. We lost the chance we have 3 more to go!!!
YOU DON'T PICK CITY , CITY PICKS YOU AND WHEN IT HAS!! NO MATTER HOW BAD IT GETS NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU SAY THATS IT NO MORE NO SEASON TICKET IF YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN BY THE BLUE MIST THE ONLY TIME YOU STOP BEING BLUE IS WHEN YOU DIE!!
IF YOU ARE LUCKY IN YOUR ERA OF BEING BLUE YOU WILL SEE SUCESS IF NOT HEARTBREAK EITHER WAY YOU WILL BE BLUE. ITS JUST THE WAY IT IS!!!!

CITY TILL I DIE !!!

He is in a class of his own as the worst left-back ever at City. It is a travesty that he gets games. Atrocious defender in every way.

He is an actor not a footballer, I hate looking at him. Utterly useless as a football player, my heart sinks every time I see his name on the team sheet.

I want a reporter to ask Baldie why he plays the worst left back in the premiership...especially against our CL finalists.

I want to know what total and utter BULLSHIT baldie comes out with to justify shit heads inclusion - of course he will lie through his teeth about why he plays but I still want him put on the spot to answer that question.

Game of fine margins. Serg scored that pen and we win the game then peps a genius for beating them with a second string team...knocking their confidence and we have rested 9 players.
We get a pen that was nailed on, on Sterling we win the game. All that with 10 men (I refuse to count Mendy)

Having Mendy playing is like playing with 10 men but also adding an extra one for the opposition. 10 against 13 yesterday.

The obvious narrative in the press - Tuchel has got Pep sussed, beaten twice in successive games - Can City blow the title, United only 4 points behind the next time City play -
See what yesterday’s clusterfuck has done, this will put needles pressure on the team, I don’t give a flying fuck what anybody says, yesterday’s selection cannot be justified in any way at all, an absolute fucking disaster, I get no pleasure in forecasting what would happen, which I did as soon as I saw the team. Total dereliction of duty by the manager, what the fuck is that fucking clown Mendy being anywhere near the team, effectively putting us down to ten men, anyway it’s to late now we fucked up again, am I confident it well not happen again? No I am fucking not, we still have not won the league yet, we all know the rags will win their games, and fuck only knows what team he will pick for CL final.
Still fucking fuming, and the final turd in the water pipe is I have a fucking ceiling to paint today, fuck me I am pissed off.

Some of those points seem to escape some fans on here .

We have not won anything yet (apart from the tin cup )

I am quite surprised at the number of people saying yesterday was a nothing game. It's like they've forgotten that we need to earn the title. We're not champions yet and it won't be handed to us.
