Carroll delighted with move to Dippers

Carroll said: “I’m gutted to be leaving my home town club; I was told to go.

“I didn’t want to leave that’s why I signed a five year deal. I was pushed out of the door.”

Nice - Scouse pay ridiculously inflated price for a hard partying, injured, unproven striker who doesn't want to be there!

So to sum up dippers transfer window.

Sold world class striker and ended up with a big Geordie lad and a Uruguayan with 5 months PL experience between them and around £10m down on the deal.

Well I'm impressed

Who is supposed to get the ball to Carroll, and who is supposed to stop the ball going in at the other end, seeing as both full back spots and both wings are still populated by extraordinarily shit players by Liverpool's standards?

I understand there's been a breakthrough between Terry and Nando's missus then?

Like you, I'd have loved to have seen us sign Luiz. However, it'll be interesting to see how he actually shapes up to the more physical aspect of life in the Prem and whether he takes some time to settle. If that's the case, Chelsea might be leaking goals for a while yet, which could put their Champions League aspirations in jeopardy (fingers crossed !!).

It'll also be interesting to see who Ancellotti pairs him with at centre back, especially in view of the fact that Terry seems to have gone backwards a little this season (how lucky were we that we never managed to sign him ??). If Terry continues to slide indiscernably downhill, it may take a while before the penny ultimately drops and Ancellotti replaces him with Alex. Once again this could be to the advantage of other sides competing for a top four slot.

On the other hand, Luiz could prove to be an immediate smash hit and be the player we wished we had signed.

All in all, it's going to make interesting watching.

I can only see one style of play for King Kenny now, and its not 'Pass and move, it's the Liverpool groove'. It's more give it to Mereleis and Gerrard, ping it at tall Geordie and hope Kuyt and Suarez bundle home the scraps. Should be loooooooovely stuff to watch week in/week out.
Basically, I think they're slightly less fucked than they were 48 hours ago. But only slightly less fucked. Any improvements to come on the pitch will be at a rate comparable to continental drift.

if the rumours are to be believed it would seem that Terry is balls deep in this right now. Bouncy pair she's got...

If so we should get Torres now. We will be lucky if Jo scores a goal for the rest of the season so we shouldn't count him as one our forwards.

Haha your right but we know mancini wouldnt like that, nice to see you getting involved mat.

honestly, they must be in suicide mode in Liverpool. Carroll deal was just horrendous bit of business. Horrendous. I have my doubts about Suarez but it's Carroll that stands out.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Well I've just heard on talksh*te irani? Compare the Carroll move to the old phrase "what's your house worth". These idiots clearly and conveniently forgetting how City in previous windows were ruining football.

All because it's Chelsea and Liverpool . Tossers !

Of course these deals are all stupid.

Desperate times at Chelsea and Liverpool. Both in the Europa league next season eh?

Carroll isn't worth anything like 30 mill but anyone who's seen Gerrard put a ball in & Carroll get on the end of stuff & watched our defence deal with those two factors against teams like Leicester, well, I'd think we'd wait for a bit before taking the piss out of this. I'm not confident about our chances at Anfield whatsoever now.

So Given stayed? I heard a rumour that he was going on loan to Cardiff or was that just my mate winding me up?
