pretty clear he was saying it was just the start of a tough schedule ... seeing as we play arsenal next week and our month of january is truly horrendous.

upside is that all the people slagging off yaya will get to see how we get on without him. Could be eye opening for either side of the argument. Many people wouldn't have thought we could be as good offensively without tevez, but we've set a record pace for goals scored so far this season.

Chelsea were useless, scared even, and even with a man advantage.

Three trips to West London, three shit performances.

of course, we should have had the peno from silva and aguero should have scored his 1-1. it would have been a totally different game if aguero scores that, we would have been rampant. That's a chance that needs to be put away. I don't think lescott had a good game, even before the peno, but neither did kompany. Zaba did ok, but didn't offer anything going forward, which we knew he wouldn't. I think we need to come with a fresh approach, and I think we could do with bringing de jong back into the starting 11 for arsenal. sit milner after that performance.

so much promise and an excellent finish from balo all gone to waste after that opening 20. our midfield was pretty dire apart from silva. I want to see nasri back in the fold ... dzeko is really out of touch with what's going on in the team at the moment, in my opinion.

lineup vs. arsenal should be:

hart
micah (hopefully) vinne kolo kolarov
dejong barry
nasri yaya silva
aguero

balo to replace any attacking player based on need ... I just don't know about dzeko right now, I don't think his head is right and I don't think he has the right attributes to trouble arse's defence at the moment.

No idea how we are going to deal with RVP

I do, Nige. Bummed about today, dropped points when Chelsea looked dead scared of us, but we will make it right this weekend.

At this level you can't do something like this.

Meireles 3 wasn't a booking for me... But his first and second clearly were.

Some people on this thread need to give their head a wobble - I know it's the place for post match ranting but we're top of the league and played 5 out of the top 6 away from home. Yes tonight was disappointing, but once we went down to 10 (cheers cuntenberg) it was always going to be tough.

We're still the best team in the league, nothing to worry about. A minor blip. 4 cuntish away games out of the way and still top. Roll on Sunday.

Is all this disappointment just a sign of how much we have progressed. Am kicking the walls here and know that there will be flack in the office tomorrow.
Its not that long ago that my reaction to a 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge would have been "at least we kept it respectful"

Losing this one although painful now takes an awful lot of pressure off the team, the unbeaten tag has gone - ride the media bile for 48 hours and come back and take it out on the next 2 or 3 sides we face starting with the Gooners.

He is a prick. Penalty and red card for Meireles, game over.

I might be wrong but wasnt he the ref in the play off final when he invented 4 minutes out of nowhere?

Yeh you are wrong.

That's a bit harsh, I had us down for a loss but not with a sending off. Penalty would've took us 2 up and the same one was given at Sundeland and Spurs last week. Clattenburg should have at least booked Silva for the way he went down, a clear point to emphasise why the Premier League shouldn't appoint and brief their referee's.

No complaints though, we should've won it in the 1s half.

We are fucking spoilt. I am you are, always moaning about refs and media. We have the best team in the league by far. Let's just enjoy it.

this same defence last season minus Clichy had us all jizzing,....now suddenly it's wank?...fuck that,..this is complectancy and something that should be put to bed with this result....we were going to lose some time so let this be a lesson and get us back focussed on the job ahead,...bring on the next london challenge!....andi fucking hate Lampard and his oh so well timed substitution and penalty to follow...aaahhgghgghgghg....i hate everything!! ...almost.....except City...

If we looke on the statistics, Clattenburg took us 5 points from 6. Two at Fulham and three today. Usualky when we play home and he is in charge, we don't have problems (except the Arse game), but away he is more than pathetic.
Scum had an unfair decision with Newcastle and all the media went beserk, instead when we are robbed, apparantly is normal for this to happen.

But yes, our defence was shite.

Your username is in shout mode, mate, so that's not really something you can complain about. :-)

We all said we were bound to lose a game at some point. Well now we have. I am not happy about the non-pen for the clear foul on Silva at all, nor the pen given (Les Cott protecting his face from a powerfully-struck shot hit from three yards away seems reasonable enough to me and he didn't really have much time to avoid the ball) and there were a lot of free-kicks for Chelsea that were, well, a bit soft to say the least. Still, we made them park the bus on their own patch and play counter-attacking when they could, which was not often even when we had ten men. Look at the saves Hart made, if you can remember any. They needed a penalty to break down our ten men. All the moaning round here about our defence doesn't really seem to take that into account, does it?

Actually it reminded me of the time we were the only team to beat them a few years ago. But I feel we are now better than that Chelsea team, which we will go on to prove during the rest of the season.

Roll on Sunday.
