So many factors. At least we are making lots of attempts and for most of the game are around the oppositions penalty box and not ours.

It's bound to create some chances - and make defending easier too.

That's what they're trying to do with the xG (expected goal) stats that have been a rage the last year. This tool has drawbacks as well, but does give a more nuanced picture.
