However, I'm seriously pissed with that ref. Wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but he confirmed my worst fears when there were 2 blatant yellow card offences leading to the Same goal yet no card shown. He thought he'd done his job, the cunt!

But, get the fuck in!!!

they get 2 pens, go a man up, and we still win. Certainly no one can claim that these players don't have the proper mentality. That could have easily gone the other way after Otter's red

Is it a Full Moon tonight or what ? So many warped opinions on this thread.

Even with 10 men we were better. Two outrageous VAR - Very bad decisions and people are up in arms about the team.

Someone mentioned it earlier but another Spanish ref, another obviously-biased performance. Can't be just coincidence every time, can it?

I was bricking it through the 2nd half. They need to win by 2 goals at the Etihad and that doesnt seem likely to me

A 3-4 would do them.

I hope Pep trusts Zinc to play on Sunday, we look much better with a balance at the back when actual full backs play

Ok, just to recap on summat somebody mentioned earlier... Fern to miss the second leg? I thought yellow card count was reset after group stage?????

Other missing, not such a big deal hoping that Stones will be fit by then, failing that Vinnie should be capable of one game.

We will smash these cunts in our own back yard.

Oh and that now sets things up nicely for Sunday too...

C'mon City, never predictable

Stupid push but fair play to him for getting in and backing Zinc up.
Schalke were getting away with too much bullying and getting in the refs face as well.

The ref gave Schalke absolutely everything and when he couldn't, he turned into 5 mi it's farce for some faceless cunt to call. If it takes that long then you know they're not certain and if you're not certain, you don't give it.

Fantastic comeback. That strike made it possible.

That said, we can't win this. We will not be allowed to do it. Schalke scored two goals today and got a player sent off for doing nothing for 90 minutes. The penalties were correct, but the VAR screen not working at this level is beyond anything.

Mixed feelings for you no doubt after that post.

Some people need instant gratification Slim. The game goes on for 90 plus minutes and then the Germans win .... oh wait !

There is a full moon. You’re right about that.
We are a better team.
They were two penalties whether you like it or not. Both avoidable by our team, regardless of interpretation by VAR.

We were never going to lose the tie tonight. A 2-1 defeat would be very achievable to overcome but the win just makes the return leg more comfortable.

But more importantly the win and the manner of it, sets us up very nicely for the Cup Final on Sunday
