Your username is in shout mode, mate, so that's not really something you can complain about. :-)

We all said we were bound to lose a game at some point. Well now we have. I am not happy about the non-pen for the clear foul on Silva at all, nor the pen given (Les Cott protecting his face from a powerfully-struck shot hit from three yards away seems reasonable enough to me and he didn't really have much time to avoid the ball) and there were a lot of free-kicks for Chelsea that were, well, a bit soft to say the least. Still, we made them park the bus on their own patch and play counter-attacking when they could, which was not often even when we had ten men. Look at the saves Hart made, if you can remember any. They needed a penalty to break down our ten men. All the moaning round here about our defence doesn't really seem to take that into account, does it?

Actually it reminded me of the time we were the only team to beat them a few years ago. But I feel we are now better than that Chelsea team, which we will go on to prove during the rest of the season.

Roll on Sunday.

Agreed. Can't remember a time when we have had a top sides home fans whistling for the ref to blow up for the end of the game with 2/3 minutes still remaining.

He is a prick. Penalty and red card for Meireles, game over.

I might be wrong but wasnt he the ref in the play off final when he invented 4 minutes out of nowhere?

It was a debatable if Silvas was a penalty. Certainly would not be happy if it was given against us.

I suggest we looker closer to home if you want to get upset about getting beat tonight.

It was as clear a penalty as I have seen this season and just as much a pen if not more so than theirs, and no he wasn't the ref in the play off - that was Halsey.

Scum had an unfair decision with Newcastle and all the media went beserk, instead when we are robbed, apparantly is normal for this to happen.

But yes, our defence was shite.

We switched off against Fulham and we deserved to lose tonight. Nothing to do with Clattenburg.

we should have had it wrapped up in the first 15 mins...yaya had a shocker giving the ball awaytoo often, silly fouls and not tracking for the chelsea goal. he is very over rated.

Why are people getting so worked up?! It was a bad night all in all but these things happen in football. We just have to get up dust ourselves off and get on with it. Still top, home game next, winning a league title isn't easy and was never going to be plain sailing, a defeat was always going to happen at some point. We are still the strongest team in the league. Put it this way, if they had gone down to 10 we would have likely battered them, they needed a peno to beat us. Things really aren't as bad as some of you feel, tomorrow will seem better! :-)

We didn't get a stonewall penalty.
We got booked every time for tackles.
Mancini cannot make a decent sub.
We got a red card.
Morrelis stayed on the pitch.

But hey ho...we will all get a grip.

We could have beaten Chelsea easily today. We missed chances & we stopped passing the ball. It doesn't matter what they do if we keep the ball. We changed the way we were playing & started trying to force the game rather than just knocking the ball around. Chelsea created one real chance in the whole game which they scored & that could have been stopped easily if yaya had just bothered to jog 10 yards.

We are a much better team than Chelsea but imo we are better than Bayern & Napoli too & we found a similar way to lose to both of them. If we pass the ball; we win. If we stop doing it, we struggle.

The thing was, I could see us losing the battle but not losing the war.

One game where I actually thought that the ref did his job. We'll be back soon and understand that it's not just about the other 11 players.

While we're hand wringing, we might also ponder why our super-brilliant stars like Silva don't raise themselves from the malaise they are surrounded by. Instead of doing something stellar that elevates us and saves our skins with a goal from nowhere, they just tend to disappear. When all is going well and we are overrunning teams they fizz and pop - when we are looking disorganised and panicky, they do nothing to help. It's been a theme for two seasons now.

It's called the 2 tier system, attack and defence. It's where Yaya is being paid to be that makes the difference.

Probably been said above but my $0.02 for what its worth

- Stonewall pen on Silva not given
- Red cad for Meireles but he stays on

If Clattenburg makes the correct decisions in the first half, its a totally different game. It was a Homer display I thought, and I seriously doubt we would have got the same handball decision at the other end. That said, it was a pen.

Too many big playes not on blob for us tonight though, Ya Ya poor, Silva under par, Milner under par, Aguero (aside from the first 2 mins) very poor. Thought Barry our MOTM and Kompany still not playing anything like as assured as last year. Seems intent on leaving his feet and also lost his cool when Mata nutmegged him which leads me to believe the latter may have yelled "Taxi" as he went on his way.

First time this season Clichy's looked really poor, getting beat for the first goal and two silly yellows resulting in a deserved red. Had Meireles seen Red 30 mins earlier though, the whole game ould likely have panned out different.

Congrats to Chelsea on winning the league this evening ... whats that? They are 7 points behind us? Cool. Over the season they are no big threat and we will finish 10 plus points north of them; the real threat comes from you know where, and the press will have a wank-a-thon when they beat QPR and take over at the top next sunday for a few hours. A good solid home win putting Arsenal back in their box, is needed next sunday. Over to you City.
