At the very least, for me PD.

Ideally I'd like two more to ensure we're reasonably covered for injuries, loss of form and rotation, although Kevin Keegan would still reckon we need six.

At least we have a goalkeeper worthy of the name. And Walker is fucking superb. But as you say, another two or three strikers and we're good to go.

Potentially, do you think we might have a No 2 'keeper on our hands to 'oust' Bravo from this position ??

Didn't want to say anything but yes I do. Having said that, Douglas Barder could oust Bravo.

Nah, Bader was good in his day, but his legs have gone.

Why come on? 9 days is a big gap when the season has just started.

Match fitness and team cohesion will be helped and of course we have a good relationship with them so no one will be injured from rash tackles.

Bernardo, Mendy, Bravo could use the minutes to get their sharpness up. We may even see Gundogan feature. And then of course there's Alexis who'll be short on preseason minutes too.

It's a catch 22. They need game time and fitness and to achieve that risks injury, but you can't wrap them in cotton wool and take no risks. The main risk being that they go into a proper competitive match under prepared, both from an injury and match result perspective.

Not only is there a nine day gap between games, but only 12 or 13 players will have had significant game time against Brighton. So it is s chance to exercise the others and perhaps to involve Foden and Diaz again.

Foreverinbluedreams made some other good arguments as well. New players and those returning from injury will benefit from some game time, and we had less time to prepare than other PL clubs both with our late preseason start date and with the amount of player turnover.

Was just in Iceland in July for two long layovers.

Rented a car and drove to sights around "The Golden Circle" each day. What an experience that was. Highly recommend it if you have never been. Hope the players see the sights because it is truly a profound thing to witness. One of the best things I saw I doubt they will as it's a bit off the beaten path...Brúarfoss:

Was hoping I'd be there when we played, but not so lucky.

Followed by a penalty shoot out with the exciting new penalty shoot out/ABBA rules.

Squad travelling to Iceland, tells us a few thing imo....

Nasri, despite some good performance stateside, it appears the rumours of being disruptive have some credence, not on the plane....

Bony and Sancho also not flying.....

Foden, Tosin and Brahim stepping closer to being part of the first team this season? On the plane. Same could be said for Roberts but not for Denayer.

Mangala is also travelling, along with Zinchenkoi guess just making up the numbers....

Bendy and Ilkay not fit enough to play so left at home.
