you need flair and luxury, we just need a coach who knows when. i think we have got that now. robbie is never going to be useful in every game but there are enough teams (home and away) who he could work his magic against. the player needs to sort his head out for sure but i'm not ready to see him gone yet by any means.

Bollocks, Real offered Robson in an exchange deal for Ronaldo plus about £30mill to United in the summer of 2008, when it became apparent that united wern't gonna sell Ronaldo at all that sumer Real withdrew the bid. They then realised they had made a major fuck up because Robinho was one of Real's best players the previous campaign (2007/08) when they last won the title. Bernd Schuster (the then Madrid manager) was never up for the notion of using Robinho as part of any deal and became very annoyed when the board went behind his back and that plan backfired. Robinho, having been a vital part of the team the year before as I said, became very disillusioned and pissed off.

This is where Chelsea then came in, but by this point Real being the cocky arogant basterds that they are decided they we're going to keep Robinho despite treating him like shit and refused to do buisness. Robinho then went public and handing in a transfer request and Real had to let the player go in the end, they agreed a deal with Chelsea but then went back onit after Chelsea published Robinho shirts on there website despite him still being a Madrid player.

So then comes 1st September 2008, Robinho is left in a fucking mess and is stuck at Madrid due to both Real and Chelsea acting like a pair of tits, City then get bought out by A.D.U.G and we offer £32.5million, Robinho agrees to the deal and the rest is history.

The point of all this, is that after Real's shit plan backfired they were desperate to keep him due to there managers wishes, they were far from "desperate to offload him".

Robie is the players I'm most uncertain about: currently I would not bet a pound neither on his exploit or his failure.

To be fair to him as well as to the Club investment, I think he should be allowed the whole season to show if he can become a world class under a wise management of his talent, thus I voted KEEP.

Finally, for the time being, I feel more close to those who think this season should be the very last chanche to him, barely basing on some technical mistakes I saw from him, that hardly may depends on the current unfitted physical status. For sure a Club aimed where CITY is to, cannot indulge on long term on an unfulfilled talent.

5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

Mate, that just simply isn't true. Real were trying to land Ronaldo with Robbie as part of the deal. Once it fell through and they still required Robbies services, they tried to renew his contract, which Robbie wasn't having a subsequently left.
Here's a brief look at Robbie's Real Madrid days from Wiki with a few salient points highlighted:
Real Madrid
Robinho earned the shirt number 10 for Real Madrid, previously worn by Luís Figo. He ended up making 37 appearances and scored 14 goals in his first season. At the start of the 2006–07 campaign, Robinho and David Beckham were considered too flashy and glamorous and rapidly fell out of favor with new footballing regime instituted by Ramon Calderon and carried out by manager Fabio Capello and he spent much of the first few months of the season on the bench, this even after being player of the match in the first Classico against Barcelona that year. Only after the winter break did Robinho and Beckham find themselves in the starting eleven and they were both played crucial roles as Real Madrid won their thirtieth league title. That title was the third league title of Robinho's career.

However, Capello was subsequently fired and Bernd Schuster was appointed as head coach of Real Madrid. Robinho finished with eleven league goals[8] and eight assists[9] for Madrid in the 2007–08 La Liga season as well as four goals during Real Madrid's UEFA Champions League campaign. Robinho then got injured at the beginning of the second half of the season. He didn't recover fully enough to help Madrid against Roma in the Champions League. The week before though, Robinho saved Real Madrid's La Liga title hopes with a clutch two goal performance on 3 March 2008, as Madrid defeated Recreativo away from home.[10] That game kept a resurgent Barcelona at bay and ultimately secured Real Madrid's thirty-first league title and Robinho's fourth.

Despite being Real Madrid's third highest scorer during his Madrid years behind strikers Raul and Van Nistelrooy, the player with the most assists behind Guti, and the only Madrid player, along with goalkeeper Casillas, to finish in the top ten of the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year nominations for 2007–08.

Rumors suggest, there were dark clouds forming over team president Ramon Calderon's refusal to renew his contract which was first promised to take place at mid-season then promised to happen at the end of the season. Calderon went back on his word twice, as moves were already underway to use Robinho as trade bait to bring in Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United. Robinho only found out about it when the initial deal with Cristiano Ronaldo fell through as a result of Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson's outright refusal to bargain with Real Madrid, who then backtracked and tried to finally make a concerted effort to renew Robinho's contract once their attempts to sign Cristiano Ronaldo failed.

Robinho demanded to be traded and a deal with Chelsea looked to be in the making. Chelsea didn't meet Real Madrid's asking price, which eventually led Robinho to choose Manchester City, as his new destination in the Barclay's English Premiership

Give him until the summer then see. Maybe Mancini can get him playing again - after all, he's glad to see the back of Hughes , so that's bound to give him a lift, and he'll want to prove that Hughes was the problem all along, by playing well again. . .

Looks like we dodged a bullet with KaKa too.

I voted keep. You just don't sell a world class player like him unless he openly asks for a transfer. After all he scored what, 14 goals from the left wing last season? Give him time to get back to form after his injury and then we will see a top class Robbie under Mancini, I'm sure of it.

As for those asking why he can't play on the right...he can, but he's not a proper winger so his usual move is to cut inside from wide, now if he does this from the left he will come on his best foot, the right one, while if he did that from the right he would come onto his left foot, which is not his strongest one. If you watch his assist for Tevez against Wolves, he was on the right wing, and he made a right-footed cross on the deck that eventually reached Tevez, who then scored. He could play that way, but he's not your usual winger who goes down the flank and then crosses, so I think he'd be limited if played that way. But, he can.

If Hughes was going to be manager for the next xouple of years then it would have to be sell as he simply couldn't handle him, but everybody starts with a clean sheet under Mancio so we have to keep him. If he can work his magic he could be the cherry on the icing. Fungers crossed!

Keep. But Robbie has to accept that he's not a big fish in a small pond anymore. He's just one of many players making up a great team, without guaranties of a regular starting place.

Sell, he hasn't got what it takes to be a success in the Prem. Too much of a lightweight and cant remember him playing even a half decent match away from home.

Alright everyone, I'm James. Have lurked and observed for ages but why not post! You may have to put up with a couple of late night (inebriated) rants mind you.

Well then, I voted Keep, without question. The media are on his back and he's low in confidence. Soon as he gets a goal we'll see him buck up. Although one is arguable, statistics say 2 assists in 2 games.

I'd back him to have a screamer against the rags too!

Hope everyone has a fantastic night tonight by the way. All the best for 2010!

Quite suprised by poll, although i want to keep him but most blues i speak to have moaned about him. We must be the more sensible bunch on here as i think Robi under Mancini will fulfill his potential on a regular basis starting against boro and then coming on next wednesday to put the nail in the rags coffin ;o)

Best player i have seen in a blue shirt although can be so fooking frustrating.

Blimey, we get a player of his undoubted class and skill and people get on his case. We're gonna push him out the door ourselves if we aint careful.

Robbie's biggest problem is that he likes to think he's a special case. The biggest mistake his club can do is to treat him as such.

So, dealing with him like any other player, the simple fact is he's useful when fit, and we seem desperately thin on the ground right now. January is not a good time to buy decent player replacements, so we obviously keep him.

Then Mancini gets him fit, brings his confidence back and Bob's ur uncle!
