Excellent result. A performance that got the job done. Would've been very disappointed in City if we had not won but we did.

I was very very nervous until we scored but ever since I knew we have it in the bag.

Happy as fuck! Bring on Burnley and a better performance on Saturday.

Does that include being negative regardless of the result?

Doesn't sound like a debate to me...just sounds like miserable twats wanting to moan for the sake of it

well i feel i am being negative in terms of the bigger picture, ie are we playing well enough to finish 4th when we have teams better than wigan to play. but you can call me a twat, i never thought of it like that.

It wasn't the best display ever but we were denied at least one clear penalty before the sending off (which was completely fair btw) so I don't think the red card changed the game we would have scored eventually. As it is, we won 3-0 which at the end of the day is what matters. Teams don't always play the same, so we could have battered them 10-0 and still be nervy for next game, because that's how football is, you never know what's going to happen even with the same players on the pitch and the same tactics. At the end of the season what matters is the points taken, not how they were taken.

That's the problem, we are 5th in the table and have just won one of our bogey teams 3-0. I do not think we are mediocre.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Last nights game was mediocre, as was Everton (x2), Sunderland, Stoke (x3), Liverpool, Hull.....

5th. I repeat. 5th. 2 points off 4th. A champions league place. Think back 5 years ago. 5th was a distant distant dream.
Please enjoy the ride.

Pretty much every single report I've read at lunch and the radio from the drive home last night said we were awful for 65 minutes and Tevez saved the game single handedly. Most of the South Stand were getting pretty pissed off with our midfield and booing was starting about 50mins in. Surely the entire world and where I stand can't be wrong and we actually did play good football last night?

Read the fucking thread will you?

No one has said they aren't happy with the result.

It's the performance (not just from last nights game) that causes concern for upcoming, very important, games.

Can you not see that?

Noones questioning that...what we are having a go at is the twats that have to rub in the fact we were not playing well DESPITE the fact we won 3-0

I don't anyone is saying we played well. What I am saying, though, is that since teams don't play exactly the same every time they go on the pitch, we could have won 10-0 with Barcelona-like football and still the trip to Burnley would be an uncertain result, because you can never know when a single player is going to make a mistake that costs the game, or if the team will do just as well (or as bad) as in the previous game. So what matters is that we have won and got three points, anything else is in the past. I know fans want to be entertained and rightly so but in the dying part of the season when you're competing for an important league spot, what matters is only results.
