Nobodies bought them...all the papers this morning are running stories about Roy trying desperately to keep hold of his players...I don't think he would be kept that much in the dark...

Let me firstly start by saying that normally I am the very last person to believe in rumour and hearsay. In fact as soon as I hear 'Hey mate I have a friend of a friend whose's sister shampoos Christian Purslow's cat....' I switch off and do a runner. Generally these 'rumours' are total tripe and consist largely of Lionel Messi being seen in an Estate agents in Gateacre.

This I feel is somewhat different. This particular piece of news comes from an ultra reliable source whose professional position means he is in a position to know what he is talking about. He has been correct in the past with many other LFC related news stories way ahead of it breaking in the press and he is certainly not a character who would make it up.

It has been suggested that the club has been sold for £560m to the Dubai group. They had allegedly given Purslow the task of removing Rafa before buying the club and bringing in a new man under their own terms. The deal is supposedly done and an announcement will be made the week of the 15th July, after the World Cup. This would make sense on top of yesterday's reports that the RBS are getting twitchy about Dumb and Dumbers attempts to find a new owner (Liverpool Echo report). I don't know any more than that but if this is as accurate as I believe it is then we may have just become the richest club in the Premiership.

It could be wide of the mark,if so I stand to be corrected. But past experience tells me that it could be more than just another wild rumour. Watch this space! and remember if it's true I broke the news first on Vital Liverpool, but if it turns out to be total bullocks it was Chubby's idea.

Ah the secret takeover that no one knows about - except for the fact it is all over the interweb. And a takeover that insisted on replacing a European Cup winning manager, who also came second in the PL the season before last, with Roy Hodgson.

Yep I'm a believer.

If Dubai Capital have bought them, they'll be more skint than they are now.

i got told something similar last week by a scouser i was on a course with he said he heard from someone close to the club

Firstly, i couldn't find this as my laptop crashed and i thort that it hadn't been posted.
So sorry for taking this long for getting back to you, I heard something on the radio but missed most of it. Later in that day i had a chat with a couple of friends who are big liverpool fans and seem to hold minor postions with in the club it self. I asked them what was happening in regards of the radio and they informed me that they dont know but have been told that there will be a press release but couldn't seem to get info as there was a type of blackout.
In my OP i did state that i didn't know and was trying to come up with idea's for the reason of the press release.
maybe they have either got over the problem or that there good news has fell apart at the seems like their team is.

I was thinking the same thing if it was something big like a take over we would have heard about it by now.

How long before Abu Dhabi took us over had you heard something about it? I must admit, I was totally in the dark until the public announcement on transfer deadline day.

The point is, if a takeover had been agreed that long ago, why not announce it by now? Anyway, with City there were strange signs of something not being quite right, like Thaksin sanctioning transfers just before the takeover, when he didn't even have two brass buttons. All the signs at Liverpool suggest nothing is happening, especially having named Hodgson as manager. Seems strange they'd give him the job if a buyout was already agreed, no?
