Another 3 pts which puts us 7 pts clear at the top of the league I think. Leeds were our bogey team last season so a really great result. Will post the match report tomo.

Thanks

where to next? now i just expect a clean sheet and 3 points. I'll have the usual please Ms. Andie, cheers.

Also, how the fucl would you retire...this is one of the ages on current pace, is it not?

Iv agreed that if we go up I will stay for another year despite being put off by a rather heavy challenge on me today. Can't really afford time off work and and any more challenges like that could see me off. Saying that the dirty fucker who hit me hobbled off for treatment wheres I just dusted myself down and got on with it.......pussy!

Great news Andie, the invincibles!

Leeds City Vixens 0 v 4 City - F.A Women's Northern Premier League, Sunday 7th November

"Vixens Out-Foxed by City"

City ladies travelled north again for the second week in succession in the knowledge that whilst Leeds hadn’t enjoyed the best start to the season they were in for a real battle. The game started as predicted with Leeds pressing hard for the ball all over the pitch trying to stop City’s playmakers from keeping possession. The Leeds high defensive line was their own undoing when Krystal Johnson broke through after only 4 minutes to round the keeper and put the blues into the lead. 1-0 City.

Far from deterring the Leeds players, this spurred them on and the game settled into a fairly even contest with Leeds’ work rate matching City’s ball control and the half finished with the one goal separating the sides. A re-motivated Manchester City team emerged from the dressing room for the second half determined to match Leeds effort for effort and with their better ball control, quickly started to play the ball around creating openings and chances and just 9 minutes after the restart, Lindsay Savage knocked a ball through from midfield to put Becky Grocott 1-on-1 with the keeper, which she side footed into the back of the net 2-0 City.

City continued to press and it was only a matter of time before City bagged a third when a low cross whipped in off the by-line from Krystal Johnson was deflected in by the now stretched Vixens defence. 3-0 City. By now the Leeds Vixens were being stretched all over the pitch and on 66 minutes Sarah Danby was pulled down in the 6yrd box and City were awarded a penalty. City Captain Savage blasted home the ball giving the keeper no chance, to give City a 4-0 lead.

With 15 minutes to go, City’s manager made a double substitution; Lauren Beckford for Grocott and Danny Young for Champ. 5 minutes later Leigh Wood made his final sub with Ellena Turner replacing Johnson allowing City to play out the game comfortable winners.

Manager Leigh Wood said "A good 3 points earned today. We started off well scoring early on, but then didn't really get going until the 2nd half, when we played some good football which Leeds couldn't cope with, scoring 3 good goals. Well done Ladies".

Andie, do you have a cup format similar to the fa cup? Be nice to pitch this team against the top teams and see just how good you are.

Yeah the FA Cup starts in January and all the big guns will be in. Going to sound bad this but our priority this season is to win the league so I'm not sure what kind of team we will put out.

Great result! Sounds like the pitch didnt make much difference then judging from the report.. sounds like you took them to the cleaners second half.

haven't you got a big game coming up against the second placed team?

We play Rochdale at COMs on Sunday. They are around 4th I think. If we win that it's looking very good as everyone else keeps taking points off one another.

I then think we have maybe 2 more games agaisnt Curzon who are rock bottom and then that's me done until after Xmas as I'm off on my hols. Bit gutted to be honest and I'm hoping the weather is shite so any games that are due to be played while I'm away are off.

Ah Rochdale.. i was thinking you had to play Coventry soon. I hope that your disappearance doesn't affect the team then after making one hell uv a start to the season. Who is second in line to be the keeper? Would you expect to go straight back into the team after your hols?

Coventry have a county cup game so its been postponed.

The back up keeper is called Danny. She has all the attributes to be a top keeper but lets nerves get the better of her at times. She tends to let mistakes play on her mind which can they lead to other errors. On her day she is excellent and must believe more in her own ability which IMO is a must as a keeper.

I believe firmly in my own ability which some will call arrogance but i really do. I don’t let mistakes play on my mind while the game is going on and will take time out after to look at what i did wrong and why. It’s something that the GK coach last year was working on with her but he is away at the moment. In answer to your question though, I would like to think that i would come back in, but taking a holiday during the season isn’t looked upon well.

Manchester City Ladies FC-3 Rochdale Ladies FC-1

Another Sunday and another 3 points, game slighlty marred for me as they scored deep into injury time after the defense fell asleep. Were still 7 clear with a game in hand and a superior goal difference of +15. Will post the match report when done.

Thanks

It's proving to be a great season Andie, glad to read that you're postponing your retirement WHEN you are promoted this season too

went down today and although it started off a bit untidy was quite enjoyable in the end. the second goal was class. their number 18 was impressive and looked quite fit but was too far away to pass proper judgement

You should, we are strong at the back but can also score goals with 11 in our last 3 games. Plus you have 3 home grown blues in the side dying for the cause!!

City 3 v 1 Rochdale AFC Ladies

“CITY COMFORTABLE AT THE TOP”

Manchester City Ladies returned to their home ground to entertain their visitors from Rochdale on a cold Sunday afternoon. Right from the off, City showed why they remained unbeaten at the top of the division, playing with the level of control and confidence of a winning team. Rochdale were far from beaten right from the K.O, working hard to close City down and to try and stop them playing.

City proved to be just too strong for the visitors all over the park and just 26 minutes in, Becky Grocott blasted a shot in from just outside the 6yrds box to give the keeper no chance of a save. 1-0 City. The goal served to rally Rochdale and they continued to chase down and work hard to keep the score at 1-0 up to the half time whistle.

As the game restarted, City came out meaning business and after just 7 minutes, won a free kick on the edge of the area. The shot was blocked, but only as far as the feet of Krystal Johnson who controlled the ball and neatly slotted it into the back of the net to make it 2-0 to City.

City continued to dominate the game and had numerous chances to increase their tally but Rochdale had far from given up and on 72 minutes, Rochdale broke through and produced a fine save from City’s Keeper Worrall to keep the score at 2-0. With 85 minutes gone City’s persistence paid off when Krystal Johnson bagged her 2nd and City’s 3rd goal to seemingly put the game beyond the reach of the visitors. 3-0 City.

Rochdale refused to give up though and with 2 minutes of injury time played a long ball played from the keeper and headed on, landed at the feet of Rochdale’s striker who calmly converted to give the visitors a consolation goal.

Manager Leigh Wood said "A professional performance today resulted in a good 3 points. We dominated for large parts of the game switching the play and attacking the space well, creating a host of chances. Well done Ladies".

The game finished with City comfortable winners 3-1.

Team : Andrea Worrall, Kelly McLellan, Fliss Middleton, Abbie McManus, Danni Lea (Fran Champ 80), Sarah Danby (Ellena Turner 61), Becky Lea, Lindsay Savage, Levi Wensley (Danni Young 77), Becky Grocott, Krystal Johnson
