Totally agree, the guys a tool. If all this is true, then how does he think hes gonna win a court battle with us???

IF he deliberately broke a clause in his contract and is trying to sue us over it, it gives an indication of his level of intelligence. I'm glad we got rid of him when we did.

Dunne and Ireland are mid level premier league players at best. As soon as we raised ourselves above that level, it became achingly apparent.

Dunney is now, Stevie could be class. As for the mid-table Wooders, wouldn't you say they are at the right club?

Sort of agree with that but only when he's really on his game. If he drops even 10% he's a bit of a liability imo.

It's easy to get into the mentality of 'he's shit' if he plays a few games below par though, as his shitness stands out like a sore thumb because he gets himself into important positions. It's easy to see him miss a tackle but it's not always easy to appreciate that he's the only player who would have read the game well enough to be attempting that tackle in the 1st place. The number of cock ups by other players that he quietly covers up is outstanding.
Imo he's been mostly excellent this season but ideally, you want a player who does the same job but is quicker & scores some crucial goals. Not sure such a player exists though.

Re Dunne & Ireland; both are very very fortunate to be professional footballers. Pair of absolute losers.

I see that a lot as well Ted

I'd also like to add that it's about time Barry had his signature move named after him ala the Cryuff turn.

You know the one where he sees a 50/50, shileds the ball, draws the foul and falls onto the ball all in one motion. It truly is a thing of beauty.

I also think he's a ninja to escape 5-6 handball calls a game.

That is all.

Both Dunne and Ireland were brilliant for us in our time of need, we moved on and they were casualties that were nessesary if the club was/is going to progress. Of the two (because of age) I think Dunnie will be the better recieved of the two in future (as his great performances outweighed the cock ups, which all consistent players have tbh) . Ireland had a fantastic purple season but he was unable to sustain once Elano and Robbie went. Great memories from both but its time to move on because they won't affect our future in any shape or form, no matter what is said

Funny I never had Dunne in the 'brilliant' category. 'Solid'? 'Outstanding'? 'Rock-like'?

Never brilliant. :-)

yes and they are under-achieving horribly so perhaps my estimation was a little generous mate :)

Agree totally. With Dunne in 2nd place. For one season, Ireland was close to World Class. Imo that was mainly down to him working very very very hard & Robinho's brlliant movement making him look better than he is. Ireland's reputation on the whole, is built on what he does in training & that's still the case at Villa; Houllier is saying it now.
