Any way at least we've clarified the links between Celtic, Ireland and catholicism. Then there's Hibernian............................

It is the minority who sing pro IRA songs.

It's the minority who were lashing out at women, kids and old folk after we played them at our place.

etc, etc, etc

Always the fucking minority!

Yes Minority. Like the minority of City fans who sing about the Munich tragedy, the minority of Rangers fans who wrecked Manchester, the minority of England fans who got caused murder in Dublin and numerous other places in the world.

Or should we tag all english supporters like you and me, as football hooligans? Blame all Rangers fans for the shit in Manchester? Blame all Liverpool fans for Heysel? Blame all Columbians for shooting Escobar or whatever his name was?

I find it quite funny that most city fans are up in arms over this with some of the shit we sing about Munich. If we can give it, we should take it.

What the fuck is the point of this thread? only to incite other people. Rangers and celtic are 2 clubs that should never be talked about on this forum, they are too closely linked to politics and religion.

i do notice that the people posting on here now, slating ALL celtic fans, are the ones that were very quiet when the rangers fans were wrecking manchester.

Where this 'protest' crosses the line is in how it ties into an Irish republican agenda deeply linked to the heart and soul of the club, albeit not shared by significant parts of their support. The club punishing the protest with alleged bans from Celtic Park is a bit rich, considering how that mentality is beyond being tolerated by the club. IRA songs and the like are routinely heard at Celtic Park (and by their fans at away grounds) and sectarian gear is sold outside the stadium every matchday. While I support Rangers as well as City, they are no better with the kind of nonsense the club tolerates around the ground. Only when it gets on camera do the clubs leap into their 'shocked' mode. No one who supports either club can deny the undercurrents of both clubs...

I'm fascinated by the Troubles so I'd love to hear about that. If the memories aren't too tough, I'd be well up for reading a bit of memoir in off-topic one time. I read 'Killing Rage' by Eammon Collins about a year ago and it was the most gripping autobiography I've ever read.

As for Rangers/Celtic I groan to myself every time I see it on this board. Always descends into the same old clichéd tit-for-tat shit, sometimes accompanied by a bit of casual racism. Can't be doing with it.

It's a truly great post. Not because of his argument, if you can even call it an argument, but purely for the 'Where the hell did that come from factor'?
