I have said it before and I'll say it again...THERE ARE REASONS FOR FAILURE. There were reasons why we haven't won a crock of shite for so many years...Whatever those reasons were, they do not exist now. Those days, those managers, those lack of resources and other shite that permeated our club have gone...hopefully for good. We have no reason to fail.

For those who say we haven't won for 30 odd years, why do use that as a cut off point? Is it because it its useful to confirm negativity. Why don't you use a cut off point 15years or so earlier. That would prove this City shite is nonsense. Our club is no different from any other. Given the right circumstances, we can and will succeed. What the fuck are city fans so frightened of?

You have been invited to the biggest party in our club's history, yet so many of you are happy to stand at the door dicussing how you MAY not enjoy the event.

DUMP THE BAGS.

Quality post John, I like parties actually. At this particular one I'm just a tad nervous that my dancing efforts will show me up ... I may have a little boogie after Christmas, we'll see

It's great to win and to string together a few good results but a win against the bottom side doesn't have me suddenly convinced that anything magical is happening. We are where we want to be (more or less) but we haven't even reached the halfway point of the season.

Last 5 prem matches is won 3 and drawn 2, all against opposition we should be able to beat handily enough. It's a good record but not the kind of platform that'd have you confident that's we're going to take the league by the scruff of the neck.

I agree and disagree to a point. We can look at it in the manner you have presented, or they way we played the top 4 and Liverpool by the first week of November. They had the points on the board, and now some of them have to play each other, so naturally they will drop a few and we will pull it back

Sure, but a draw between Arsenal and scum puts scum ahead on goal difference (with a game in hand) and Arsenal clear ahead. A Chelsea win puts them ahead of us, but wouldn't necessarily be a bad result overall for us because of the damage it would do to Spurs. But even there 5 points in early December is nothing.

A win today was useful in terms of our aspirations for the season, a loss would have been damaging to our hopes. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think that anything special happened today that suddenly makes us likely to win the league. We got 3 points of the 80-90 we'll need.

It's one thing to discuss our chances of winning the league, we're in the mix at the moment but no more than Arsenal, Chelsea or scum. It's another thing to announce that today we " are now officially title contenders", i.e. we're weren't yesterday but now we are. It's an impatient attitude, and one that won't help us win the championship any faster.

....and while I'm on a roll....before I go to work...looking for rags to goad, taunt and take the piss out of....

Let's nail the urban myth that's "CUPS FOR COCK UPS".
It was coined, tongue in cheek, by the wit and sense of humour of Francis Lee. It was picked up and taken seriously by City fans who chose to latch on to it to confirm the club's negativity and explain later failures.
It was coined about a team that was WINNERS.

ENGLISH LEAGUE CHAMPIONS.
CHARITY SHIELD WINNERS.
FA CUP WINNERS.
TONY BOOK PLAYER OF THE YEAR.
LEAGUE CUP WINNERS
EUROPEAN CUP WINNERS CUP WINNERS.
ALL WON IN A THREE YEAR PERIOD.
Conclusion....PLENTY OF FUCKING CUPS....and given the chance, I'd be more than happy to see City make a similar number of cock ups in the next few years.

We've got an "M" an "A" an "N", a "C" an "I"-"T"-"Y",
We've got the greatest team, that money couldn't buy,
We come from Eastlands, Manchester,
WE'RE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE,
And when it comes around to May, You'll always hear us sing....
(repeat as necessary)

...and finally...Ronk Mate.

I always thought we were title contender...even yesterday Pal.

I just think we should learn to pary, lift the the team and for once...shout our fucking heads off about just how fucking good we actually are.

You are right that we have no more chance that the rags, Chelsea an Arsenal...By the same rule, we have no less chance either. They seem happy to gob off about themselves, its ok for their fans to scream and shout. It's about time we started to join in and invite ourselves to the party.

Question for you guys that think we can win the League. Do you think we can still win if Tevez is really leaving in January?

Depends who we buy to replace him. A fit Torres for example then yes.

Aguero is way overrated imho.

Torres is always injured... Dzeko could be a huge success yea.

But they are all completely different type of players.

2 top notch strikers required if Tevez goes imo. Can't trust Ade or Balo one inch. Anything they do should be rated as a bonus, not a neccessity. It would be down to whether the new players settled very quickly & started scoring. If so, we'd be on for a title challenge. If not we'd be lucky to get 4th.

The question is just "inadmissible", Mate, because it simply won't happen.
I'd try and revert: would You believe if reading on tomorrow NotW that Buckingham Palace is under siege by Burkina-Faso Army?

then - theoretically only - as already per other posters - everyone is replaceable, just get Dzeko, Torres, Pato or Higuain.
Furthermore, that's is also why Ted and I would have been grateful to Bob if he had experienced the 4-2-3-1 with AJ-YaYa-DS roaming behind Balo and cutting deep into his spaces. What I saw in the last 20 minutes is quite confortable in that way.

Still - while I am not affected by the "Typical City desease" because I am a fucking gloryhunter who joined when City was already 8th on the League - I am far from convinced that we are gonna win the league this year, because we have plenty of work to be done before being ACTUALLY a Dominant Side:
just add 2 points for the Joe Hart's butterflies hunting + at least 1 for the penalty gifted to Sunderland on injury time after having wasted plenty of opportunity + 2 points for having been a side of selfish cunts instead of playing a collectve game plan versus Brums and 2 points for losing focus a couple of minutes too early at the Britannia. It roughly make 7 points and I don't count the Arse Home game because the gamble of picking a Youngster for such a tricky game with such an anti-City bastard at referee is a personal shame of the manager only.
We could continue with the outcome of playing without Nigel versus a bogey team where he would have been of deciding importance!
Anyway I always have been a positive thinker - so I better say: season is quite in its middle.... so let's see how fast the Lads' Seniority shall improve!
Also because I don't wanna incur into the John68's reprimenda... Image

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."

Agree here. Torres is unfortunately very much injured but imo he would be our best bet. Dzeko could be a success. He could do worse than Schevchenko in Prem too.

HAHAH I love this club. The more things change the more they stay the same. Thing is, we won without Tevez yesterday and we are still equal top with a window about to open.

Having said that, I'm sure Tevez will stay.
